I am a packer. Give me limited space and I will figure out how to fit it all in there, i.e. packing the van for car trips. Packing boxes, etc.
that's me too.
I learned from my mum as we traveled a lot when I was growing up, then I taught Sarita as she always did the lugagge with me and we also traveled a lot...remember that when she was in her year 6 trip, she came back super proud of this one thing: ALL the girls in her cabin were desperate not able to fit the stuff in their bags/suitcases and she was the one packing for them all in the last day!!!!
Now I feel like this need to travel is itching in me !!! LOL
My super power is "Mom ALWAYS knows". My kids think I have eyes in the back of my head because I always know if they're up to something they're not supposed to be doing. I heard my teenage daughter tell her friends she couldn't sneak out of the house one time because I would find out and make her life miserable. She's right, I always seem to find out and she's knows when I do, she'll be neck-deep in yucky chores instead of hanging with her friends. I'm sure I don't know everything they do, but at least I know enough to keep em in check... hehe!
yup, most definitely me.
I know Sarita told her boyfriend there was no point on hiding things from me because, for some strange reason, I always know. And I do, which at some point, especially 2013 and last year, I wish I didn't LOL
Fun question!
My superpowers include . . .
being able to find things my kids couldn't
scraping the last of anything out of a jar
knowing what's going on any date in the near future (though I do need a calendar to help with me with this)
remembering to refill the water bottles we carry with us out in the world *
unknot tangles in strings, shoelaces, necklaces, etc.
putting items in the recycle bin (not the trash can)
*actually, my middle child has this superpower too. Got to give credit where it's due.
I have the scraping out of the jar thing.... even when at ties involves me getting my hands and face completely stuffed with sticky jam or whatever... LOL
Now this last one (the recycling bin one) I wish I could make Sarita understand that!!!!!!!!!!
My super power is to watch people go "Oh, that's (insert animal here), they're very shy and don't like peo... oh, they're in your hands.. weird, they barely let ME pick them up."
My in laws call me Snow White because we went camping once and I went off on my own and sat down to eat my snack. They came around to find me and I had a bunny eating nuts next to me, the squirrel sitting ON my knee taking peanut by peanut out of my hand and stuffing it in his mouth, and some birds on the other side chomping down some of the bread. (In fact, I'm going to be scrapping a page soon about the very yard I learned HOW to be Snow White in!!)
I am also dubbed MouseBear to my friends because I'm the one they come to when they need cuddles/hugs/calming/support. We were doing some strenuous activities and my friend came to me to be soothed and calm down a little, then a few other friends, and then suddenly I was holding strangers and calming them down and creating the safe space they needed. It was rather hilarious looking up to see a stranger and having them ask if I can be their after care nurse! I loved it though and once a month I was a MouseBear for everyone!
So my super power is to calm and love!
I'm also SUPER good at diffusing situations. I was always stuck with supervisor calls (there were two of us that took them, but the other girl wasn't as good at them) because I'd have the customer laughing by the end every time!
I am not surprised.
The energy, the beauty you radiate here from the first day I saw you is something out of this world and I know you have touched my life in such a especial way.... I wish I was near geographically because if virtually (online) you can do what you do, in person I know it would be 1000 times more healing!!!!!!!
I have a bit of that with Sarita's friends...many of the girls when she was in secondary school would come here for refuge and I would be the one mediating with the parents, one of her best friends (who is in most my pages) was taken by social services into foster homes and had a really tough time... Sarita asked me to intervene and we did, her life changed, improved and she found in our home, a family... she calls me her second mum

When they were in year 9 they all came to ask me what to do to help a girl who was a cutter and I got things moving to get her help with the form tutor and the headmistress.... these are some things of my life I am kind of proud of...and feel so sad that I don't have much energy left these days or I would start getting geared for fostering when Sarita moves out.... but not sure I have what it takes these days
My super power is compassion.
I'm a great listener, and will try to help you solve the problem, or see another viewpoint. Along with that, I'm a great secret keeper.
I find that most LSD people I have come across in my life have this awesome gift....

and I can see/feel that I would feel so so much better if I lived near you and could come have a coffee with you from time to time

The secrets thing...I think it depends on the seriousness of the situation, and the evaluation of it, because my idea of a good relationship (in every kind of relationship) is that there should be honesty, which has no room for secrets... oh long issue to be discussed LOL
i am not, people say, can I tell you a secret, and I respond back
only if you let me tell my husband, my mom, and probably a few more people.
the looks on their faces os priceless.
I am the worst secret keeper in the world. I will just explode with knowledge.
explode
I LOVE you SO much- you are such a wonderful woman, I think you are the Pad's Wonder Woman!!!!!!
Also see above my answer to Court.... oh would be long to explain but lets say you tick every box of what I consider a person to be admired and have as role model!!!!!
My big superpower is budgeting. You'd be surprised how far I can stretch a dollar in the San Francisco Bay Area. I can also wake up every day before 6am without an alarm. Ooh, and I also learn song lyrics really fast.
see? we ARE sisters!!!!!
the middle one, not so sure, depending on the day I had before... I usually do wake up without an alarm but I don't keep set time... but the budgeting (maybe because necessity is the mother of invention?) and song lyrics.... this last one got me through so many auditions!!!!
I think if I had to choose one of mine at this point in life (which is completely different to 5 years ago, 10 years ago or even more so 20 or 30 years ago!!!) would be the ability to survive extremely stressing situations.... but I have a HUGE help from my family and friends so not sure I can take that as a merit of mine!!!
Now all through my life, the ability to adapt.
I have lived in different countries, different cultures/conditions, have gotten a few degrees in order to work with what would allow me to make a better life and at the same time was never ashamed to go wash bathrooms in a train station in my own home country.... (lots of people who go live abroad do what they consider lower scale, manual work- but write home saying they are working as secretaries in a bank or in retail)
also reading you all I feel even more pride to be part of this family. As I keep saying: I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!
