It used to be Thin Mints all the way. Sadly, now that I'm gluten-free I can't eat them anymore. And I refuse to pay $6.00 for one small sleeve of their gluten-free toffee cookies. It's outrageous, especially when they don't taste very good. Instead, I get a whole box of allergy-friendly (and amazingly good) copycat thin mints at the grocery store for less money.

Having been a troop leader with two troops spanning from 1990 to 2014, I've participated in my share of GS cookie sales! Since I'm no longer with a troop, I luckily have a friend with a Girl Scout daughter who is my cookie connection. Our council does ABC bakery, not Little Brownie. This year I only ordered 3 boxes - Peanut Butter Sandwich for me, Caramel Delites for DH, and a box of Thin Mints for us to share. Remember that there's more than just the cookies to the sale. The girls learn entrepreneurial skills by participating in the cookie sale. The money the troop receives from the sale funds lots of incredible experiences for the girls as well. One of my troops used cookie money to travel to New York City for a week. The other one used it to attend GS National Conventions in Houston and Indianapolis. It helped fund 6 Gold Award projects and 3 Wider Ops/Destinations trips including my daughter's 3 weeks travel in Europe with GSUSA Overseas.
