What's on the menu? | Pad Patter 2.7.17

We had pot roast last night. I pulled the roast from the freezer. I generally meal plan for a week or two at a time. Not necessarily what we'll have each night, but rather what is available to choose from for the next week or two. So in the morning, I can say "we have xyz still available" and pick from that list.

I am sick of my normal options though. Things we have a lot.... I need new options, but I detest looking for something else. My kids have actually chosen to go hungry rather than eat if we're having something they don't like, or don't even want to try. Drives me mad.... last thing I need is my preschoolers telling their teachers we don't feed them, and trying to explain we provided food they won't eat. So then I always feel bad that they aren't eating and go back to the usuals. It's exhausting.

I need to take some menu notes from y'all. We're in a rut around here: enchilada casserole, lasagne, spaghetti, pasta (tortellini) and pesto. And we can't forget Trader Joe's frozen goodies. I do believe my family would starve if it wasn't for TJ's! Pot stickers and fried rice. Orange chicken. Beef and Broccoli. Then after fixing their meal I try to find something for me to eat. I really don't like fixing two meals. It's a big pain.

Tonight it's lasagne. Woohoo!

Mellow Mushroom popped up on Groupon for us yesterday, so we are totally going to order one of their pizzas for dinner! Half "Holy Shiitake" for me and half "Thai Dye" for him. :)
