What's new? Fast Five|Pad Patter 7.22

1) We are at my mother-in-love's house and she is getting rid of things, so: two decorative pieces of glass, a dome cake plate (that can also be a punch bowl), a brand new hand mixer, more glassware, a bookcase, and... the list is growing as I type this.
2) Watching the dog more - she has congestive heart failure and had an episode about a month ago. Trying to get her off the diuretic without having a relapse.
3) I don't really have a new song right now - still listening to old stuff.
4) New food - sigh. I need to get out of vacation mode - enjoying my fresh fruit now.
5) Last page I scrapped for the monthly muse. Also did 4 pages last Friday but did not post them anywhere. Trying to get caught up to being current.

1. What's something physically new in your life?
bought some new art supplies, but I don't have them yet - they've been taken for wrapping up for my birthday in a few days.

2. What's a new activity for you?
following a new dietary/activity plan aimed at balancing my stress hormones and haywire metabolism. On week 4 of 12, and it seems to be working based on how I'm feeling. Next hormone tests etc will be at the end of the program.

3. What's a new song you are enjoying?
none really, but I'm rather fond of one of my eldest's flute exam pieces. The exam is over now, I'm hoping she'll record it for me soon so I can listen to it again.

4. What's a new food or dish you are loving? (Stuck? What's something you don't cook/buy in the other season that you are now?)
cherries

5. What's the newest page you've scrapped?

1. What's something physically new in your life?
We got a new boss Monday. I'm not happy.

2. What's a new activity for you?
Hmmm? Nothing really

3. What's a new song you are enjoying?
No Guidance - Chris Brown

4. What's a new food or dish you are loving? (Stuck? What's something you don't cook/buy in the other season that you are now?)
Nothing new lately...

5. What's the newest page you've scrapped?
Hmmm? Haven't scrapped much either. Dang

1. What's something physically new in your life?
I have a rainbow-striped dress from Modcloth on its way to my doorstep & I. CAN'T. WAIT.

2. What's a new activity for you?
reading in that space between dinner clean-up & kiddos' bedtime -- what can I say?! I am obsessed with Jamie Fraser.

3. What's a new song you are enjoying?

4. What's a new food or dish you are loving?
We are trying out the Street Kitchen series of food kits once-a-week or so. The secret is that they include a ginger-garlic paste to cook the meat in before you fry up the veggies & add the sauce. Delish!

5. What's the newest page you've scrapped?
I haven't scrapped since last week so I'd have to check to see what it was. Something about my kids, I'm sure.

1. What's something physically new in your life? The egg slicer that was given to us as part of a wedding shower gift (from 1974) finally broke, so I bought a new one. LOL! Exciting, not.
2. What's a new activity for you? We have been mowing the yard ourselves. For the last umpteen years, we had various landscaping companies out to help. We fired our crew from last year as they were pricing themselves out of the market & they didn't do a great job. While I must have contacted at least 10 landscaping guys this year, only one showed up, mowed once, and never returned.
3. What's a new song you are enjoying? ??? DH always has an album on. We recently saw the movie "The Green Book" about pianist Dr. Don Shirley & we fell in love with it & immediately bought the DVD. Well, DH checked his vinyl stash, and he pulled out a 1950's album by Don Shirley. It is all instrumental and all awesome.
4. What's a new food or dish you are loving? (Stuck? What's something you don't cook/buy in the other season that you are now?) Not new, but always Indian.
5. What's the newest page you've scrapped? I'm going with one I did yesterday for Jen E's slow scrap:

1. What's something physically new in your life?
A Tent, lol! We are going camping this weekend... so new tent. BUT... it has a small hole, so are going to watch it, then decide if we might be returning it and getting one without a hole for future.

2. What's a new activity for you?

Saying Yes to everything. I didn't realize that I was actively doing this until this week. I've been trying to get out of a rut, so I've been getting more involved with activities with friends, going places, meeting people. It's working well, I think. I also didn't realize how many times I was lazier, more introverted, and said no.

3. What's a new song you are enjoying?

A bunch.... American Authors - Go Big or Go Home, OAR - Miss You All The Time, Zac Brown - Uncaged and Beautiful Drug, James Barker Band - There's a Drink for That, Luke Combs - Beer Never Broke My Heart, Morgan Wallen - Whiskey Glasses and Ed Sheeran/Chance The Rapper - Cross Me. Oodles.

4. What's a new food or dish you are loving? (Stuck? What's something you don't cook/buy in the other season that you are now?)

It's a side dish I made for a BBQ. Mexican Corn Salad - SOOOO Yummy! Here's the recipe: https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/recipes/a43194/mexican-corn-salad-recipe/

5. What's the newest page you've scrapped?
For SOSN today... trying to get out of my scrapping rut!

1. What's something physically new in your life? Dentures. Not handling them well at all.
2. What's a new activity for you? A coloring game on my tablet. My hands are too shaky to do actual coloring books. And, it is something of a stress reliever for me.
3. What's a new song you are enjoying? Just saw a YT video today taken by a fan at a Home Free concert called "Down to the Honky Tonk". It has not been released by them but I sure hope they do. I loved it!
4. What's a new food or dish you are loving? (Stuck? What's something you don't cook/buy in the other season that you are now?) Until the issue in #1 is conquered, no new foods. Still stuck on the soft food diet.
5. What's the newest page you've scrapped? None recently but I took a lot of photos of the 50th Anniversary Parade for Moonwalk that I want to scrap. And, a friend in town went to a lot of the activities and quite graciously has let me have them to scrap since I wasn't able to go to much besides the parade. I don't go out much with the problem in #1.

Are you talking about a song called Down to the Honky Tonk? if I remember correctly, is by Jake Owen. Fun tune! :) If not that song, ignore me, lol!

Yep, that's the one. Home Free did a cover of it at a concert. Fans are clamoring for them to record it and release it a a single.

I don't follow much in the music world except Home Free. I end up liking their covers better than the originals when I listen to the originals after hearing Home Free perform the songs.
