I love threads like this one! It's so nice to be reminded of the good things in life. Like, AC, summertime, hubbies, friendships, good jobs, clean houses...all of that stuff. Except bananas. Sorry LA. Bananas are icky to me and my least favorite food of all food. I wish they weren't because I know they are so good for you. And I got a charlie horse in my foot after an extra long work out the other day. It was in the middle of seeing Snow White and the Huntsman, and my sister laughed at me as I was keeled over in pain and whispered "bananas" in my ear. She knows I hate them. Why can't bananas taste like bacon? Because you are right, bacon is yummy yummers! :D

Five awesome things in my life off the top of my head:

1. Having a 16 month old around me. My favorite toddler age is between about 15-24 months when they are old enough to have a sense of humor, and to communicate a little bit. And they are just fun and funny to watch and giggle with. And they are learning so much so fast. It's fascinating to me! I love it and I can't get enough!

2. Living so close to my family (brothers and sisters) because they are my besties. Love them so much!

3. Having a ticket to see James Taylor at Red Rocks in Colorado July 24th. Can't wait!

4. The giant bag of Riddles Skittles sitting on my desk. Because they are yummy yummy rainbowy and fun. And I'm a candy freak. And did I say it was the GIANT bag??

5. Having a guest spot here with you guys for June. This place is awesome!

Me likey.

1. I inadvertently got to sleep in this morning. I guess I must have needed it.
2. DH's job has been extended through the end of the month.
3. DD cooked dinner last night and gave me a break. It was good too!
4. We've been able to help my brother out, here and there, and even though it isn't much, he really appreciates it and I am glad we can help.
5. Great online communities like this where people from all over can come together and share all kinds of stuff. :)

Well, I'm doing pretty good right now, but it is always a good idea to count your blessings :)

1. Chris and my kids - They are absolutely the most important things (er....people) in my life. They give my life purpose and lotsa love.

2. Summer/camping - it is summer finally, and its my favorite because I love camping. Nothing better. a close 2nd to that is swimming.

3. Our new house - I feel so blessed to finally have bought a home instead of renting, and one that is nice and right by the in-laws. Life is good.

4. Technology - I'll put all of this together because otherwise my list would be way long. Love my computer, photoshop, my nikon, and my kindle. I don't honestly know what I ever did without this stuff!

5. Books - books are always there to take my mind off things, to entertain me, to relax me. :)

♥ ♥ ♥ this thread!! It's been said before, but focusing on the positive & good is so much fun! I've loved reading each & every one of the posts & I can't stop smiling!

1. My J-man, my dearest hubby. So supportive - all around amazing. Loves me with all my emotional junk & love for sweets.

2. The littles: AMP (Absent Minded Prof) age 6, La, & Twins A & B. They make me smile. I am so proud of who they are now & who the are growing up to be.

3. Our neighbors. They are so helpful & loving & giving & understanding. It is such a blessing to have them - and I really enjoy them as people. We could sit & talk for hours.

4. coffee & chocolate . . . need I say more?? bacon too - especially in Ree Drummond's(the Pioneer Woman) recipe - Leek & Bacon Penne Pasta. YUM!!

5. The library . . . I love books

6. Scrapping again!! :) :)

1. No more diapers, pullups or goodnights. After 8 years, we are done with those stages of our children's lives.

2. Internet radio. My local stations bug the crap out of me, so I like being able to listen to better stations via the internet.

3. Words with Friends. It's the only way my mom and I communicate any more. We're both lousy about calling or texting or emailing, but we always manage to remember to play at lunch every day. Some days, we go back and forth her whole lunch hour.

4. Andy, my DH. When I'm having my bad days, he makes dinner, picks up the slack around the house and backs me up with disciplining the kids. If he would remember to put his clothes in the hamper, he'd be perfect. ;)

5. My 3 kids. They are such a challenge this summer. I think they're doing it on purpose to distract me from all the things I've been worrying about. However, they're 3, almost 6 and almost 8, so I doubt it.

This thread is awesome...I am having just about the worst week ever (for no reason inparticular) so this is just really, really great to read. I will be back to post mine in a bit. It will do me some good. Thank you all for sharing! Keep 'em coming!

1. my family - (immediate & extended) they're the best
2. chocolate
3. my house - I am just loving our new house and the lifestyle it lets us lead
4. smurfs - their little blue faces make me smile
5. sunshine - being winter over here it is so nice when the sun comes out to play instead of the blah weather

I needed this thread. I've been in a rather low, blue place since my family lost Leo and this is a good kick in the rear to keep focused on all the good things rather than what we lost.

1. My family - so, so thankful for my amazing parents, my caring DH and my sweet daughters right now. So thankful to be able to take a few weeks to spend at my parents' house and soak in some quality time with them and my grandparents. So thankful to see my extended family and for my kids to spend time with their cousins. Nothing is more powerful than the love of my family.

2. Gardening - Digging in the dirt is so therapeutic for me. I've been planting flowers and potting big arrangements all over the place at my parents. There's something really elemental and simple about it that never fails to soothe me.

3. Faith.

4. This Place! I love it here. :)

5. My number 5 is the same Sara's! I can't wait for July. I am so, so looking forward to spending time with some of my favorite creative friends.

Great thread!!

1. My beautiful, sweet husband and children.

2. The fantastic opportunities we have had in our lives. To travel and live abroad is something I never thought would be so fullfilling.

3. air conditioning

4. Gong Cha Signature Earl Grey with half sugar less ice...sigh

5. IKEA

It's funny how reading five happy things about people I have never met in person can make me feel so smiley and content. We should do this thread once a month. Look at how so many people who were feeling blue were lifted by reading this. Thanks for starting it, La! :)
