Depending on the season of the year my art journaling changes dramatically. Right now we are in Fall. It's supposed to be nice a crisp, but we are having an unexpected warm Fall. We are enjoying 70s F every day which is unheard for us. Not much scrapping or art journaling happening right now since we are suffering badly from allergies and colds. Winter is my "feeling blue" season. I love winter but it brings my insecurities out maybe it's the staying inside the house maybe it's the weather. On the other hand winter is when I art journal the most, I have a NEED to get it all out of my soul and into ART.

Tell me, what season (and weather) are you experiencing right now and how the seasons affect your art journaling?

We are in Fall having October weather (after a very rainy October). But my art journaling is suffering because the rest of my world has gone mad. So if I ever get to it there will be a lot of emotions coming out.

Season of almost maybe soon cold snap will happen, but not looking like it soon. So very apprehensive and for lack of better word.......nervous about winter. I love being outside, snow makes me very claustrophobic. I can't drive in it, and hate even passengering in it. It makes me feel like I am being smooooooooshed down.
but I am cleaning and prepping myself for it...argh
I should AJ about the smooooooooosh emotion..it is pretty debilitating.

yep smoooooshing is a good topic I want to see it. (I love snow, but we know how I feel about heat -- so you and I are opposites). I can kind of identify with snow making you feel claustrophobic though. A big snow storm will do that to me. Enjoy the pre-cold snap.

Hi @Dalis, like you, I'm in the Midwest and it is has been unseasonably warm. I still swatted a mosquito the other day, in the house! My fav season is Autumn, with a close second to Spring. I actually enjoy it when the weather begins to get colder. I get to spend more time inside, in my studio. It is a time for being reflective, for enjoying the fall colors, for tidying up a few things outside before we deal with whatever Winter throws our way. I find with the cooler weather, I have more energy and that is displayed in my art. I journal 365 days out of the year, but I think I'm a bit more focused on my art when I am not dealing with the heat.

I can't tell that seasons affect my art journaling. I always start with a quote or from my feeling of the moment. so maybe the season affect my feeling ; but season is not the start for my art journaling

Weather is crazy in Montreal these days. Last night it was a bit below freezing - but yesterday it was really warm - way above average. This weekend is supposed to be above average but not terribly so around 48-50 F.

I hate cold. Can't stand snow - don't know what I'm doing in Canada in the winter. Lets all go to Mexico.

This is a great explanation. I know the sunshine and temperatures affect me, however it's whatever season I'm in personally that has the greatest effect on my art journaling.

I AM IN!!!!!

Right now, I am miserable (we all are in our house).... we are all sick.... ALL INCLUDING DOGS! We are literally dragging each other into the next item in the "what needs to be done list".

That sounds especially miserable. sending get well wishes and prayers

Slow fall here - feels like we are behind, but when I look at photos from this time last year, it is about right. It has been in the 60's or higher most days. Lots of sun and we got our first frost just this week. First really hard one is coming up on Saturday night. We brought the pineapple inside (did you know you can grow them and they will produce fruit the 2nd year?).

I love snow, but in small frequencies. If we get snow, it will probably be in January or February. I do dislike the cold when there is no snow to justify it. I would love a 3 day stretch of about 8" of snow; that would do me for the winter. Meanwhile I will enjoy our fall.

I don't think my art journaling or even scrapping is related to the weather/season. It is more related to how busy I am and what kind of moods I am in.

Hmmm its heading into Summer here in Oz so the weather affects my Art Journaling by making me hot, sticky and miserable! Its hard to sit at the computer during the hottest months when my arms stick to the desk :giggle

It is spring and summer is almost here. I love scrapping happy topics using light and bright colours at this time of the year.
