What makes you happy |Pad Patter 10.24

It was! And I was driving in it lol We got about 4" of rain in a short amount of time. That's not a lot, but when you get that in a valley with the run off from the mountains and lots of streams and creeks, it makes a mess.
Oh, I live in a desert. 4" at once, when it's fast is flash flooding out here. I totally get it!

Just tonight as I was tucking all of my kids in bed I was thinking about how everything feels good when all of my kids are under one roof. We were separated for a few days & it feels good to be back together.

Also coffee, ice cream, scrapbooking....

Today-

Seeing my hubby with a real proper smile on his face because he got his Security Licence. Next step, security guard!

I made a new recipe (an experiment from someone I follow) for dinner and it turned out great! Everyone liked it!

And finally... McDonald's Cheeseburgers. They are cheap and quick, and when you had a morning like I did, a cheeseburger is about the greatest thing on the planet.

I'm still thinking about a lunch I had yesterday. I had been feeling bad/lonely over the weekend because I don't have almost any long term friends from my childhood or even adult years because of the many moves around the world I had. Other women I know have BFFs from grade school! Then Sunday I got a surprise voice mail from one of my neighbors in England (living in MD for ages) to come to lunch with another of our neighbors. That was from 1968 on! We've all been living fairly close to each other but didn't have the right names/addresses any more.

When I got to Macaroni Grill I told the hostess I was meeting two women and she took me over to a table and asked if this was the women? I said I didn't know! But one turned and shrieked ...Maureen! We sat and talked for 3.5 hours!!! It made me so happy and I felt so blessed that my prayers were answered. So fast! And yes, we plan to get together again fairly soon.

Did I say chocolate? Chocolate makes me happy. Especially the Sea Salt Butterscotch caramels from Trader Joe's that I'm eating now.

(And yes, I do know I already mentioned chocolate. It just makes me incredibly happy that I had to share it again! :circles)

Bright sunny days with trees against the blue sky - and no humidity. Love Fall here - warm temps without humidity.

And finally... McDonald's Cheeseburgers. They are cheap and quick, and when you had a morning like I did, a cheeseburger is about the greatest thing on the planet.
Oh, I understand you there. I love those things, no matter how horrible they really are. But I can't eat anything in them anymore. So the next time you have one, enjoy it for me as well, ok?

This made me heart happy for you! I bet it's wonderful everytime you are all together again.

I don't know what your mcdonalds are like, but here some of them have play areas (slide and climber) for kids and free wifi. So, there are days that the cheeseburger, and hanging out for an hour is the happiest thing for me.

less vaccuuming
Um, yes. Always.
It made me so happy and I felt so blessed that my prayers were answered.
Yeah! I totally understand. I've moved enough that the oldest friend I have on Facebook is from 8th grade. And she's in another country. We like to see what's going on, but no real conversations. In real life, my oldest friends I met 1 year ago. I haven't been with my 2 high school friends in about 5 years. So, your friend meeting made my heart so happy! I love that it was exactly what you needed when you needed it.

What? A chocolate treat from TJ's I haven't tried? Must rectify that! I love their chocolate.

@BevG do your leaves change? It sounds magical.

They do - just slower than the Midwest and other parts north. Fall is just starting here. Actually this year it is all delayed by about 2 weeks or so. The leaves are just starting to turn and fall. Winter won't come until mid to late December.

Add NC to another place I could live on my list. We don't have winter until January or so.

Oh no!!! For a long time after I had my gall-bladder removed, I couldn't eat anything from McDonald's or most other fast food places. It totally sucked!! My body eventually worked itself out and I can now, I just have to be careful and pace myself.
I will definitely think of you next time!

Yeah ours do too. Normally I would sit down have a coffee and let the kid(s) play, but I had been out 2 hours longer than I had planned and I just wanted to go home. Bellamy had one slide and then we went home.

On a side note. They changed our play areas a few years ago and I still don't know what I think about them.
They used to have slides and steering wheels and windows and places to hide and seek, a really fun little play area. Now they are a 3 meter high platform climbing thing with a single slide (all enclosed in strong thick wire, so it is totally safe).. but no room for imagination. Go up, slide down, go up, slide down. I think I'd rather get take away and go to a park.
These are pictures from google. Before and after.

We just got family pictures taken (it's been about 3 years!) so seeing the proofs as she edits is making me super happy! How cute is this!? My family isn't real thrilled about pictures- but they know it makes me happy so I'm happy about that! lol!

They're to die for! They are packaged in a blue bag. You gotta try them! I brought those and See's candy to Sweden, and my family preferred them to the See's!
