Ree Drummond (i.e. The Pioneer Woman) is from a town north of us about 30 miles and she was doing a book signing there. I went back and forth about whether or not to go, but ended up going for it. mostly spurred on by my boys--they LOVE her cooking show and seriously sit and ask me 32109 times each episode if I can 'PLEASE make that for them'. When i asked them if they wanted to go, they were so excited. Xavier says as we are driving, "HOW does she make her food SO good?" Cracked me up.

we get to the Walmart where the book signing was, get in line (that is long, but kind of hard to tell exactly how long since it snaked in and out and around). we waited THREE hours....But, oh my stars, the boys were hilarious cute and excited and couldn't stop smiling. I handed my camera off to someone and managed to forget to set it to auto focus points, so the one pic of all of us is awesomely out of focus, but oh well:

and this one kind of sums up the 90 seconds we were with her:

This was from 2 1/2 years ago at her first book signing we went to--look how little the boys are:

so, crazy or not? anybody else standing in lines for signatures?

Those are awesome pics, Becky!! How FUN! Is she just as friendly in person as she seems on the blog?

Totally, Laura!! She was so cute and happy with the boys, thinking they were so funny being so shy...telling William that her youngest son's middle name is William. All the while, scribbling our names and her name in our cookbooks!! So fun and honestly, when you see your kids get so giddy about something, it just makes your heart happy!

And honestly, bless her heart, we waited at least three hours and I know there were at least that many more people waiting, I think they should have had a cut off line.

I love Ree! Have you read her High Heels to Tractor Wheels book? It's SOOOOOO cute!

I would ::love:: to meet her! I think it would be worth it to wait 3 hours to meet her!

Of course, your camera was not on auto focus (how many times have I done the SAME thing? so many!)

What a fun memory! I'm glad you went! <3

p.s. she is just as beautiful in real life as she is in her photos and tv interviews! she is so awesome! I have her cookbook, too!

How fun that you can share that with your boys. I love Ree's website and show....

How much fun is that and the time difference too with your boys. I've never stood in line for a signature but I do think you picked a worthy 'celebrity'!

so awesome! i love that your boys love her show - my oldest does too! in fact, there are a few things that she requested i make - i should add them to my menu plan for this month!

and i love that you've gone to see her more than once - that's the neatest part!

That is so cool! It's so cute that your boys were just as excited too! :)

Becky, I remember when you went 2.5 years ago to get your book signed back then! That is really cool that you went for it, even though it's 30 min drive and you had to wait in line for 3 hours.

Also, may I just say, I LOVE your long hair. And you look so pretty yourself!

oh so very cool!!!! someday i would love to meet her too! and i agree with christine, you look gorgeous too!

you guys are making me blush...which is funny because I was just complaining to my husband yesterday about how bad I thought my hair looked, but I got a bunch of compliments on it LOL

Wow, that is awesome! I would totally wait in line to meet her. She seems awesome!

soooo sweet! i'm getting all happy by the photos! :)
