oh my... Kim, I am still hurting for you with the hunger thing (which I am not sure I even commented on it as I have been particularly bad with reading/writing) I feel your pain in each and every issue, I know as my own life has been a collection of mishaps for sometime now (6 month to be precise !)
I have a car through a charity for disabled people here called Motabilty, we get a car that we can choose from the car dealers associated to the scheme, on a lease for 3 years, the car gets paid with part of one of the benefits I get from the government called Disability living allowance, so technically I don't really pay as they take the money direct from my benefit, so every month instead of getting £300 and something, I get £100 and something. I also don't pay tax, insurance or service, all gets paid through Motability, so my opinion would be a bit useless as I can't tell which car is better value for money... but for now almost 10 years, we have picked the same car: a Skoda Roomster which is a mixture in between a 5 door and a mini van, not too big but higher and bigger than a usual (we had VW Golf, VW Polo, Ford Focus before this one) so I can fit a wheelchair or a disability scooter if needed.
It runs well and doesn't eat much petrol, is super comfy and I had an arm rest in the middle between driver and passenger seats, which makes my life easier...
but as I said, I don't pay for it... and I just went to the Skoda website to show you and I saw they are not making this car anymore for 2017....... now I need to find out which car I ll get next LOL
