What does your home network look like? Where do you store your stash and photos? I've had all sorts of problems lately with EHDs and our wireless internet and I've told DH it's time to up the ante when it comes to our home network.

I would like a setup where I can store my photos and digi stuff off of my Macbook, but somehow be able to access them wirelessly in the home when I need something. I backup on CrashPlan but I would also like to have a automatic local backup over the wireless here in the house.

I'd love to hear what kind of setups you all have and how they are working for you!

After I lost years and years worth of photos, I just haven't had it in my heart to backup. I mean, I even backed up to an EHD, a secondary drive and when I needed to get to the photos.....POOF!~ All gone! I think I cried for days. Now, I'm backing up to Dropbox or in the 'cloud' so I know I'll have them. But then again, that's really no guarantee either.

I have an EHD that I back up to and DH also has a server PC which has it's own EHD so I have my files backed up in multiple places. The PC stores all of our music, photos, my scrapping supplies etc., all which can be remotely accessed wherever we are at home. Hubby just suggested you get a NAS (network attached storage). This sits on the network like a server and can be accessed by anything in your house including smartTVs, iPhones, iPads. You could buy one that is 1TB (or larger or smaller) that has additional drive bays if you think you might want to add extra HDS down the road for extra space.

I have my EHD where I store all the kits. Once in a while I copy my pics and LO's over but seeming I make so many pics and LO's :giggle my ehd is getting rather full...
a Cloud intrigues me but how safe is that?

Laura has a NAS and I think I am going to go that route, too. I'm glad I have my stuff backed up on CrashPlan but it is such a pain to keep restoring from there.

I'm so sorry Mel. :( I can't imagine losing my photos.

I have an EHD for scrapbook kits but I also have Mozy for my photos. I am really overpaying though and I need to switch to Crashplan or something similar at the end of the month. My EHD died last month and I lost ALL of my scrapbook kits, including things I had designed which was heartbreaking, but not as sad as I would've been to lose my pictures!
