Do you ever daydream about a job you would love to have... or think about one you really wanted and didn't attempt? Is there something that you would still love to do in life (for work)? What if education/skill/training were no object? There are so many amazing jobs out there when you think about it. And sometimes I wonder how people got into the fields/jobs they ended up in. I love finding out about those stories.

I used to really want to be a FBI agent (even before the X-Files :giggle). By the time I decided to give it serious consideration, I was too old. :tantrum I've also always wanted to be a lawyer (in theory). I wouldn't want to have to defend someone I knew was guilty, or prosecute someone who might be innocent, but I love the idea of practicing law. I got the chance to help my sister file a motion the other day, so that is as close as I'll probably get.

What about you? Do you have some secret job you think about? Or do you ever try to get a piece of the action by doing something close? Or are you totally happy with what you are doing/have done?

I would love to do something with cooking - a bakery, or something like that. Not a full-blown chef though - they work too hard!

And trust me - practicing law ain't all that. I was a paralegal for 18 years, and it was a PITA most of the time!

when I was little, I always wanted a huge family! when I was a teen, I wanted 12 kids!
I used to drive my counselors nuts. I did social work/criminology in college, but being a mom was something I always wanted to do.
but...........
I also wanted to be a long distance truck driver with a bull dog

Actually, if I had unlimited funds, I'd love to run a dog rescue sanctuary

LOL! When I was in second grade, I had a phase where I wanted to be a truck driver. That was right after the phase where I wanted to work at a gas station squeegy-ing windows. :giggle

Either I'm not much of a dreamer, or I got really lucky along the way, but I love my job. I started at this same company as a Mechanical Engineer, then after about 9 years of that I transitioned into my current position as a CAD Designer. I do more of the fun stuff (in my opinion). I get to model parts in 3D on a computer and then put them together virtually too. It's kinda like playing with virtual Legos all day long and fixing the parts if they don't fit together.

Having said that, I wanted to be a dentist when I was little. I am SO glad i didn't pursue that field. Ew! Lol!

I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. Scrapping for others, with no limits, is probably my dream job. Haha. Someday, maybe I'll design, but, catering to other people's ideas of aesthetics is a struggle sometimes.

I wanted to be a pilot when I was about 13. That lasted until about 17, when I started applying for colleges. I changed my major from aerospace engineering to pre med (pharmacy school was my goal), then back to engineering to improve my chances for med school later, then failed out in one semester. The only class I really found interesting was Psych 101, so I thought maybe that field... then language arts, and now I'm at art history, and still no degree. Lolol.

Bart would like to be crowned the Royal Fly Taster ... He thinks he'd be awesome at that!

I have never known what I wanted to do, ever. I was always jealous of the kids who readily said they wanted to be rock stars or firefighters or whatever. I am back in grad school now, and I seem to have stumbled into a field I enjoy (information science) so I'm just hoping I keep enjoying it. :)
