the toy your child so desperatley wants is not available anywhere and the only place you've found it was on ebay and was going for over $200 and the toy isn't even worth that much? I feel so bad 'cause Caleb is obssessed with Thomas, has been for over 2 years and actually has been asking for this set for ever a year... I know I won't be ablet to get it for him, but I still feel so bad. It's the only thing he asks for... I know he'll get over it, but still... :( This is the set he wants:

It's Thomas at Action Canyon. I've never even seen it here in Canada. I've searched everywhere online. He doesn't even normally play with the plastic track set 'cause he's got tonnes of wooden tracks...
 
We have that one! My son played with it for weeks after we got it. Thomas came to visit and it was there and he just had to have it. That sucks that you can't find it now!! How old is he? Would he go for a rain check of sorts and tell him that as soon as the stores get it back in you will get it for him??
 
The problem is that I've never seen it in Canada and everywhere I look online it says that they're out of stock and not sure if they will even be getting again... Lisa, my son is 4... does your son still play with his? Would you sell me yours? ;)
 
He is 4 too and was just playing with it today again. I am trying to think of some more places to try. I will let you know if I find anything.

lol! Thanks Lisa! I would so appreciate it! If you see it let me know. I would gladly pay for it and shipping... :) I just offered some lady on ebay 75$ for her used set but seeing as most of the new ones are going for over $150 on ebay, I'm not too hopeful...
 
What a bummer that you can't get it! The son of one of my good friend's is very into Thomas. I know she gets a ton of sets that are no longer available in regular retail stores at places like TJ Maxx and Marshall's. The next time I go I will scout around for you.
 
My 4 year old son has been begging for the same set. He also LOVES Thomas. I haven't done any looking for that set though, mostly cause I knew it was out of the budget this year... Good luck!
 
I haven't seen that set here but I know my DS would love it! I hope you can find it. I don't know what to do say when my kids ask for things I can't get them. If I say they are too expensive they reply with "but Santa can make anything!" so that one doesn't work!
 
I havent seen them but I guess I hadn't been looking either lol. I am so sorry you are having trouble finding one sweety. I know how much it stinks to dissapoint our little ones. I hope you get one!
