What are you watching? or reading? | Pad Patter 12/16

So many new shows I can share with friends... or get books of... and so many new books to go on my list to read. I will look for some audio ones, so I can walk on the boardwalk and listen at same time! (I will not fall into the water again!)

I seem to be bouncing around a bit with shows (on-demand). I did just finish up the the last season of Death in Paradise, then went on to Beyond Paradise. I ended up getting the black friday deal on BritBox as these never seemed to come to my PBS station.

I forgot the new season of Virgin River was due out, I'm looking forward to that one.

Reading -- always have a book, I've been working through a few crime and lawyer series on Kindle Unlimited as I wait for the next book from the library in the Cork O'Connor series by William Kent Krueger. Plus a few others on my holds list.

(And I will be canceling both BritBox and KindleUnlimited when my promotions expire.)

OMG! I love Britbox!!!! Besides the ones you already mentioned some of my faves there:
Vera
Shetland
Hope Street
Sherlock
Father Brown
Sister Boniface
DCI Banks
Wallendar
Luther
Bluelights
McDonald and Dodds
The Coroner
The Cleaner

Hope you get some of those in before your promo ends! Sherlock is my favorite!

My hubby's been watching his football, but I haven't watched much because of our cross country move. We did watch Christmas with the Kranks and the Grinch the other night. I've also got a bunch of shows on the YoutubeTv DVR, so I hope to catch up on them soon.
various hallmark christmas movies - that hubby won't watch with me. :giggle
Holiday Baking Championship
Elsbeth
Matlock - the new one
Found
Irrational
Tracker
S.W.A.T.

And like @cfile Christa, I'm looking forward to the new seasons of When Calls the Heart and Virgin River. I didn't know the new season of Virgin River was coming out, so I'm glad it was mentioned here.

There's also a new Sherlock Holmes tv series coming in January called Watson. I need to figure out if it'll be on Youtube Tv or if I'll need paramount+ to watch it.

I'll have to find that Watson show. Thanks for mentioning it!

I tend to binge watch and then go months without watching much at all.

Here lately I’ve been watching things a little normal(ish)-
Lioness
Fire Country
Matlock (new one)
Yellowstone (behind a bit)

My binging series:
Criminal Minds (way behind on this one)
CSI

Favorite shows to just watch re-runs of:
Big Bang
Everybody Loves Raymond
Mike and Molly

Reading—- love to read and I tend to binge on that as I’m one of those people once I start I need to complete the whole book. It’s been a little while since I’ve read but when I do, I can read like 10 books over. A 2 week period.

I have been such a lazy bones during my hours away from work because work and other things have been so stressful this year, so I've binge-watched a lot of shows just to veg out: Shrinking, Black Doves, The Day of the Jackal, Silo. Also had to watch Dancing with the Stars, The Voice, Masked Singer, LegoMasters, Great British Baking Show. Finishing up Survivor. And I re-watched Die Hard for the first time since it came out, and I concur, it IS a Christmas movie! Of course, I haven't missed a single University of Oregon football game...Go Ducks! Undefeated as we go into the Rose Bowl on New Years' Day!

It is taking me forever, because I just can't concentrate, but I'm reading The 100 Years of Lenni and Margot, which is a wonderful book I heard about on the TLP Book Club forum.

WOW! That is a lot of books in one year! I knew you read a lot, but WOW! Very impressive. The Wedding People is on my old list and should be here in a few weeks. Looking forward to that.

Reading: I just finished Jackie (for the TLP book club) last night. It was good, but hard for me to connect to at the beginning which was unexpected.

Watching: We've been watching Silo on Apple TV which is also based on a book series and is really good. We are caught up until the next episode comes out on Friday. Then we started the new season of The Lioness on Netflix. That's also good, but this season isn't as good as the first season in my opinion.

Woo hoo...fellow Silo fan! Can't wait for the next episode!

I am traveling so I am not watching anything currently, except for ski races on tv. Before we left, we watched a few Christmas movies. :) I never watch TV, except for sport events or one-offs.
I am a big reader, but this year I have been spending a lot of time on my other hobbies, plus I started a long book a few months ago (Midnight's Children) and I still haven't finished it (77% down). I hope I can finish it on this trip so I can get started on some of the others on my list.
@jk703 let us know how you like the book in the end!

That is so fantastic @jk703 , I wish I had time to read but all my spare time at the moment goes into my digiscrap business as I just work part time during standard work hours around the school day. I only read when we are on our Summer Break but I do squeeze in tv time with hubby.

We have just finished Married at First Sight New Zealand, I'll admit to following with Love Island!! I think we are currently watching the Australia one (no spoilers please we are not up to date and watch it on demand) and we are also watching Silo Season 2 (Apple Tv - Men and women live in a giant silo underground with several regulations which they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world on the surface.)

We are also an F1 household, my eldest and hubby are huge F1 fans, I think the final race was last weekend.

Ooooh just reading through the comments I see other Silo fans!

Also I believe there is a new Dexter Series that's available to us, that goes back to his childhood / roots? We'll be starting that over the holidays.
