I've had a few people pop into this forum who missed our 2 hour live meeting where we discussed the concepts. So, I wanted to provide a high overview to bring everyone into the loop.

The editorial team is producing look books and style guides. These will be free for members and non-members alike. We haven't officially decided on names, though I expect the names for the BYOC editions will differ from the style guides. The plan is to put them together in Photoshop and issu.

We'll be creating a look book for current BYOCs before they are released. The BYOC look book will contain inspiration and tips, both layouts and writing Gallery Standouts type of blurbs about them. It will be the first product in its respective story category so that it's easily accessible.

Then, we're working on a variety of style guides. These will be used on landing pages from social media to get email addresses of new visitors as well as inspire our existing customers. We're curating layouts, products and techniques/tips for those as well as some short articles. The first style guide is for Pocket Scrapping. Other planned guides include Art Journaling, Clean & Simple and more!!

For both publications, the Pollys will help create layouts if we have any holes in content.

Obviously, we're early days so this is all subject to revision as we work on the concepts and product our prototypes. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have other questions or if you want to join the team.

just thinking of names...cause I like that part...

Lily pads are plants that grow in water, and are most often accompanied by flowers. The most common lily pad flowers are the Nelumbonaceae, or lotus flower, and the Nymphaeaceae, or water lily.

Wouldn't Lotus Look Book be a beautiful name for the book? It grows right along side the Lily Pad. I always think of myself as a Lilly/Polly.

but, it was just a thought, and I have been peeking in cause I am nosy. lol I am blown away at all all ya'lls talent.

I am here to serve at ya'lls request! ♥

I have really enjoyed watching it come together and learning. I've created layouts for several publications before, but never been in on the process of putting it all together, which is why I initially said that I probably didn't have the experience to be of much help. But I am willing to help out in any way that I can!! Thanks for this!

OOh that is neat Anne.. almost sounds like "Let Us Look Book".. I like Lotus Look Book :)

This sounds really amazing! Like Jan I have also created layouts/style tips for a digital magazine so I am happy to contribute layouts or a tutorial, whatever you need. :)

regarding the name thing.... @AnneofAlamo & @cfile , it sounds beautiful, I agree, but:

if I am not mistaken, something Laura mentioned in the chat (and here above) is that, for attracting new people, The Lilypad name doesn't say scrapbooking, so if someone looking into it in Pinterest or social media anywhere, may miss it.... I'm not 100% sure, I maybe mistaken or may not make a difference as the covers maybe showing what we are about, but I thought I mentioned just in case.

And now what I was comming to suggest....
I am looking through to get my picks for the BYOC now @lmccandless
I know some Pollys will want to kill me :giggle but if we will be doing this with a short time deadline in further BYOCs, it would help enormously if the names of the products used were written down in the BYOC pre release thread before or after every image in the Polly Layout Forum. Just a thought :)

Edit to add: not sure if this fits here, let me know if better post suggestions elsewhere :)

Are you going to be doing BYOC Gallery Standouts from the Pollys and CT members pages? I am confused on how these are going to make it into a book before the item is FOR SALE. I am also assuming that the BYOC products will be coming a lot earlier into the gallery for us to use.

We will be making a lookbook to help show off the BYOC products better... similar to how Laura's newsletters for new releases show pages using each product. The lookbook will be available in the shop (first) in that section. YES the Pollys will get product earlier - we are figuring out the details still, but are thinking of doing something one month alternative to a new release (sale or feature for prior BYOC products?) So the designers will be working ahead a month on BYOC from that point on. Likewise have you seen Laura's unboxing videos before... it helps show the product in use.

No Krista, What's an unboxing video? I have not seen those. What month are we starting this?

See here - She did them on Facebook
It's not 100%, but we are hoping soon...

I think if we can pull it off and figure all the logistics - April would be the intro and month off from a new BYOC and May would be the first one.
