I have been a real Pinterest-lover ever since the beginning!!! :heartslub

So much fun discovering all the beautiful crafts, fun ideas, cleaning tips... Later on, I started taking animal pictures for my children, placed links for their favorite you tube movies etc... Pinterest is so versatile and I really enjoyed playing with it!
It has been a while since I have been so consistently busy with it... Hmmm .... :think life got hectic without me knowing it... :whistle

My Pinterest has grown so big that I am wondering why I never actually do a lot with the things I pinned. Sometimes, I remember having pinned something, but I can't find it back in my pile of pins....
I would like to start clean and have more specific boards instead of general ones.

What are your experiences?
1. Do you easily find something back in your boards?
2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones?
3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation?
4. What are your thoughts about it?

For the interested people, this is me on Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/PLMScrap/

love it, it was always the first thing i did in the AM with my cup of coffee ... in the summertime, i got busy with life and now i go to pinterest maybe 3 times a week.

i'm like you ... pin tons of DIY stuff and never try most of them. i do use pinterest for inspiration ... blog post, design ideas, scrapbook inspiration and it is absolutely my go to source for recipes.

i think my board is a mix of general and then there are some specific categories thrown in ... probably done bc of a specific project i had been working on at one time.

to answer your questions:
What are your experiences?
1. Do you easily find something back in your boards? depends on how many pins in the board.
2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones? both, but mostly general
3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation? no
4. What are your thoughts about it? love it. i actually love going back to my boards, even if they are loaded with pins, because while i may be looking for a specific pin, it is cool to see all the pins that are on that board, and i discover and am reminded of things i hadn't seen in awhile.

I followed you Sarah. :)

I'm a Pinner!

What are your experiences?
1. Do you easily find something back in your boards? Yes, as I use alot of recipes and pin a lot of layouts that I want to scraplift.

2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones? My Pins are organized in specific boards. Wish the rest of my life was organized. :)

3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation? I have not deleted everything but if a Pin no longer interests me, I will delete a Pin.

4. What are your thoughts about it? Love Pinterest for ideas for everyday life and things I want in the future. I always refer to the recipes and have tried most of what I've pinned.

Thanks hun, I'm off to discover you too! ;-)

Mel, I admire you! It seems like you have it organized and used a lot!

I go there and read the humor before bed...

I pin for GSO-finger pointing blog,

I don't like it for scrapping, it is kinda my pick up a magazine in the doctor's office time waster....and I have a few boards, but I forget about it after I pin it.

What are your experiences?

1. Do you easily find something back in your boards?
for the most part yes.

2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones?
I have specific boards and a few general boards

3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation?
I haven't deleted everything but I have moved things from one board to another if I feel it fits better and have some that are simiar.

4. What are your thoughts about it?
I really like it, especially for recipes. If it was a recipe that was a success and I know I will use it often then I take a screen shot of it and have created a recipes album on my iPad. It is great when I want to do nothing and am easily sucked in to the world of Pinterest, lol.

1. I do kind of have a problem finding things sometimes. My main problem is thinking I KNOW I pinned xyz, and it just ISN'T there so.. I might be crazy. I'm not sure that's really pinterest's fault.

2. They start out general and if I need to I break them up. For example, I started with a general "homeschooling" board when my older son was first born. Now that I'm starting to do things with him, I made a new board specifically for toddler educational activities and moved all relevant pins from the general board to the specific board. I also have Food: To Try, and Food: Tried where I change the comment to a rating.

3. Not quite, see above.

4. I think it's good in theory but requires discipline to use effectively? If that makes sense. It's really easy for it to become an insane chaotic mess. The recent update to keep you from repinning the same thing over and over again has helped me a lot though.

What are your experiences? Mostly good.... I was freaked out for awhile at one point. I had numerous people following me, and too many that I was worried it was a problem, and something fishy was going to happen. Turns out, they featured one of my boards to new pinners and in some newsletter and that was how I jumped in followers. I think it was mostly for my tutorial board too.

1. Do you easily find something back in your boards? For the most part, yes. I don't pin a heck of a lot, and I try to keep my boards simple. I don't need 100's of boards, that's just me.

2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones? Sort of mixed. I have a couple boards for food and a couple for scrapping... other than that they are general.

3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organization? No. Didn't know you could, lol!

4. What are your thoughts about it? I like it, and like to peruse it, pin occasionally. I find inspiration more than anything. I don't want it to be a time suck, so I check every so often. I pin in spurts too, lol! I'm like Jaye above, if I like it, and will come back to a recipe, I save it in the Made, Ate, Saved Board. I save my tutorials on one board, and my layouts on another.

I'm here... http://www.pinterest.com/jk703/

omigosh... you guys are pinning aficionado's. Wow. I'm definitely an occasional pinned, lol!

I totally forgot to actually answer any of the questions.

1. Do you easily find something back in your boards?
2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones?
3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation?
4. What are your thoughts about it?

1. & 2. I can generally find stuff. I have a lot of photo boards broken out and sometimes I forget which board I pinned a specific photo - like it could be for Kids or for Photo Styling, etc. But other than a few random pins I can usually find stuff. Early on I moved a bunch of pins around when I realized they were too generalized. I could never redo them now. I'm not a super-pinner, but have over 5,000 pins, so they are where they are now. Occasionally I will put the same thing on multiple boards purposely so I can find it later if I know it's relevant to more than one place.

3. Nope, never deleted. I was an early adopter of Pinterest, I joined right when it got started. We were in the process of designing and building our house and it was fantastic then because I pinned a ton of stuff to show our architect and builder and it really helped to speed up the process because I could just show them what I wanted, rather than try to describe it. I was the first person that both the architect and builder had ever encountered using Pinterest.

4. See above - Pinterest junkie.

I'm a Pinterest addict. It is horrible. I try to set time limits for myself. But I pin for some group boards, so it is really hard to stop sometimes, but I have to try and spread it out or it will just be insane. Friday nights are my usual "pin" time and sometimes Wednesdays. I don't know why, but it seems to be that way.

What are your experiences?
1. Do you easily find something back in your boards? Mostly. I have a pretty good visual memory though, so I can generally figure out where something was or if I've pinned it before.

2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones? I started with a lot of general, and have added more specific. I need to do a little more "specific" organization to make things a little easier in my home decor one. :/

3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation? Oh goodness no. LOL. I might start a new secret board a lot like a public one and move everything over, but not delete whole chunks.

4. What are your thoughts about it? I'm hopelessly addicted. But I was the same way with bookmarks before. I just find so many things interesting or visually appealing... it is just hard for me not to pin/bookmark. It has also become helpful to me for a place to store bits I might want to write about in the future. I'm starting more writing boards these days. :)

My craziness can be found here. http://www.pinterest.com/scrapsandsass/

Hehe, great to see everyone's experience with it!!! Thank you girls for sharing this!

1. Do you easily find something back in your boards?

Usually, I try and keep my boards reasonable in size even though I pin a lot. But every now and then I swear I pinned something and I can't find it for the life of me.

It does help that you can use the search function to search just your pins.

2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones? Both - I have specific boards broken out for things I pin a lot of ( e.g. I have specific boards for logos, web design, print design and branding now, but I started out with a general design board. )

3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation?

Nope, like I said I just add boards as get too many of one type of pin. Sometimes I move older pins, sometimes I don't.

4. What are your thoughts about it?

I love it! I think it's a great place to find inspiration.

You can find me here: http://www.pinterest.com/twomoredays

um, I think I still don't know what I'm doing on it.. it's like walking into Godiva when you're craving chocolate...squirrel!!

What are your experiences?
1. Do you easily find something back in your boards? yes, kinda. neat freak here. overall i need help in board organization.
2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones? both. see above.
3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation? yes. see above.
4. What are your thoughts about it? so, so happy it exists. it's a smile with my first cup of coffee. but I have to set the timer. have to. and no pins if I'm on a busy day.

I'm stalking, er, following y'all now. HA!

Hihi Nettie, you made me giggle with your timer!! I must do that too...

Ohhh addicted to pinning, it's something I do in the morning with a cup of coffee to wake up, get inspiration or just see beautiful things I like to do, make or go. Almost like a huge bucketlist :-) :-)

My experiences....
1. Do you easily find something back in your boards? Yes I do, I'm pretty organized at my pinboards (just like me at home)

2. Have you rather general boards or more specific ones?I've got some specifik boards (Crea-Colors-Home etc) and some general boards, but all together see my boards: http://www.pinterest.com/SanVHM/

3. Did you ever delete everything to restart on another base and organisation? Never deleted to restart. I go through my boards once in a while and delete some pins.

4. What are your thoughts about it? It's inspirational, tried some DIY, maked recipes or see some amazing pictures. I have to watch out abot the time, because I go on and on....

Always good to follow "new" pinners ;-)

I love Pinterest too! It's a brilliant idea and I can't log out of it. I especially use its ipad app and love it more than the desktop version. I click on one post then other related pics pop out under.. Can spend hours browsing through different boards!
I love to have seperate boards for each topic and if I wan't to find someting later I write tags in the description part. I can hear you saying but you cannot browse through those tags! Well you can! I browse my pins through browser's search; hit Ctrl+F then it can find what you are looking for through those tags. I didn't delete my boards other than my secret boards which I needed to have temporarily.
Generally I love Pinterest, though last update for desktop version is little confused me.. :)

I actually go in cycles. Sometimes I am on Pinterest every day, several times and other times I will go weeks without being on there!!!
