Welp... this is what I'm about to go do.

This* is what I'm learning how to do today. Fabulous time to learn, as I'm doing a 5 mile race of it in 5 weeks. :dizzy

*except not in that lovely water, just in freezing Hinckley Lake. And my body won't look remotely like that.

Five miles of it, huh??? Freezing water.... WOW!

But just think how proud you'll be when you've mastered another sport. I'm sure it will only get better after today!

If you fall, I'm sure Phil's board might get a little wobbly... especially after you hit him in the shin with that long oar...

I can't hit him in the shin, he's my running partner. Maybe the arm.

i would probably drown

Yes...this (especially since I can't swim..lol).
This is one sport I definitely won't be taking on (along with every other sport out there it seems).

Oh... my parents have neighbors who do that all summer long... it looks fun... we see a lot of people doing that on Lake Michigan when we go visit my parents

I'm sure you'll do great! Looks like a lot of fun (well, minus the frigid water ;) )

This looks like fun. I have no interest in running...nor do I have an interest in putting on a bathing suit to do something like this, but I love water and would definitely give this a try!

Have fun!

Good Luck Angie! That is HARD! I tried to do it in the ocean last summer and I lasted about 5 minutes, would help if I was about 30lbs lighter I guess :giggle

I didn't fall in, so no drown. But even if I had, a) I can swim and b) he wouldn't have just stood there and watched me drown. LOL

I also didn't wear my swimsuit. Running shorts and a tank top. ;)

It was fun! We paddled around for an hour-ish.

I don't know if I've ever seen that before. Glad you had fun! :D

I've thought about giving SUP a go. Did you find it easy to stay upright? I had a quick mess about on an inflatable one (pretty solid, but not super solid :)) and I was flailing about all over the place. Was on the sea though so there were waves, little ones, but they made it wobble!

I also wouldn't be dressed like that, more likely in my wetsuit!

No, I didn't have trouble, but I have pretty good balance and a strong core. It was 75 degrees, so no wetsuit for me. The water was cold, but as I said I didn't fall in, so it was all good. lol

Those have started showing up on our beach over the last year or so (Lake Michigan) Looks like fun, but I wouldn't go unless the water was warmer because I KNOW I'd fall in. :)

So that's what you meant when you said you were going to learn how to stand up paddle board. Glad you had fun! I'm always in awe of people who do adventurous stuff like that because I am SO not adventurous.

Yes...this (especially since I can't swim..lol).
This is one sport I definitely won't be taking on (along with every other sport out there it seems).

Sarah, I think we have a lot in common. :) I also can't swim and you definitely won't find me taking on ANY sports either. lol
