Just to make sure: I'm not keeping the photo mat layered, so that I can tuck in a photo if I like, but I should add the photo ON TOP of the photo mat I create?

Already made a photo mat, but I think I want to tuck the photo in between the layers for this one. Absolutely a new way for me to scrap. I'll make me a couple of photo mats, and see which one I like. LOL (as I've said before - I'm an overachiever LOL)

Here's mine! I uploaded the wrong page so it will eventually show the one with all the elements on the photo mat. If you click through, the correct one is in the gallery.

Super fun challenge! Thank you!
I used paints, tape & stamps to decorate my photo mat, then clipped painted paper the the smaller photo mat!

not easy, made loded a shape that looked like a old video came thing, got it finaly somehow to be able to paste papers too. no old 1979 video game kits in store
credits updated

shape used and did not how to work with it reminded me of a atari game image

Great layout!!! I want that life!

First of all: This was so much FUN! To me, it was a whole new way to make a layout, by creating a small piece first, and then use it on a layout. I always start with a full paper, and then just layer on top of that. I'm definetely gonna start doing things like this more!

Here's my layout:

I realize my photo mats are really hidden here, but I made this "preview" so you can see them:

I loved this @bcgal00 thanks for the tutorial. I use a lot of mats, but never really thought about decorating them.

I clipped and blended some papers to a rectangle, added paint, stitching and a paper piece.
