Water for Elephants

i read it a few years ago - i remember enjoying it, but i was nursing a baby at the time and i don't really remember it! ha - i should re-read it before the movie comes out!

A friend of mine read it and she loved it. Hopefully i'll read it before the movie comes out.

a friend of mine really liked it and told me to read it I just haven't yet cause I am reading other stuff. :)

I read it a few years ago. While I was reading it, I was thinking that this book probably wasn't for everyone, but it was powerful in a lot of ways and parts of it really stayed with me. I love when a book affects me like that. I've seen previews for the movie and it just looks so much more colorful than how I pictured it while I was reading it. It looks like it could be really good.

I definitely recommend the book. It's not a light reading feel good book though.

I didn't even know it was a book :giggle so I clearly have not read it! *lol* the movie looks intriguing, though. Maybe I'll try to grab the book and give it a read-through (in all my spare time)

I read it and liked it. I just saw the preview and thought it looked pretty good as a movie too. I'll probably re-read it again before I watch the movie because it's pretty fuzzy as to all the details...

it's on my list. i started it before christmas but got to busy. it was majorly recommended to me by someone with good taste in books. :D

I LOVED the book! There are a few scenes that are "difficult" but all in all a great read! I actually had a great uncle that ran away and joined the circus so this was even more enjoyable....

I would absolutely recommend it - it was a book I held off on reading because I didn't think I'd find it interesting, but I completely loved it, and couldn't put it down. The writing was amazing, and it really made me feel like I was there. It was one of those books I was disappointed when it ended. Personally, I would read it before seeing the movie. For me, an amazing book is never recreated in movie form, and seeing the movie first diminishes the power of the book. JMO :)

There were some things I loved about it and some things I wasn't so crazy about. And I'm a little worried about the movie - because some of the best parts of the book - I'm not sure can translate into a movie. But I have a small circus and elephant obsession.

I loved it!! I was so afraid to finish it, I had in my head the way I wanted things to turn out. I'm glad I finished!!

soooooo.... after all my debate about if i would like a kindle or not, my sweet hubby surprised me with one for my birthday. my 1st book i DL'd was water for elephants. i'm on chapter 10 i think right now. having a hard time putting it down... it's been so long since i've read for entertainment. :heartslub the book AND the kindle!!

YAY!! you will LOVE your Kindle Rebecca! I've had mine just over a year, and I swear, it's my most favorite "gadget" ever. I've read way more books, and a lot of different books, than I would have without it!

Water For Elephants was the first book I got on my NookColor too.. SO good!!

Sara G. has "the Ape House" out now too... I haven't read it but seriously thinking about it!
