Washer FIX leads to remodel! YES

Yesterday, when the store was being restocked (or whatever our Laura does during those times), I <gasped> scrubbed my kitchen, laundry room and dining area tile floor. It was looking good. An hour before dinner, I went to preseason the steak and took in my shiny tile. I mean it was like glass.
Then a ripple. YIKES! it was shiny cause there was a couple inches of water EVERYwhere! I called in hubby and began scooping water into a bucket...long evening, shop vac, fans in freezing weather, and all was dry. Then this morning.....hub stayed home, fixed the leak and cleaned my stacked front loaders..(a royal pain)...
I said, I would love to close this door, open double doors and have a proper laundry room...It is gonna happen in March! squeal....

and the hope is to have something like this..but it will be deeper! and accessibility to washer easier! and dark grays inside. oh I am an old lady where I no longer look longily at shoes but at paint chips and shelving at HOme improvement stores.

I totally want to add on to our house, and when I do, our laundry area will be moved up from the basement.
 
Good luck with the remodel... Its always fun to get a new space, just brace yourself for the mess you'll endure getting there. Been.there.done.that too many times in this house.
 
It's my dream to have something like that, but with colorful appliances. I house-sat one time & the owners had that setup in the hallway. We live in an apartment, there's just a coin operated machine in the building.

I'm with @jesskab apartment living. Although the laundry here doesn't take coins, just cards. And I like the one not in our apartment complex better {still cards}.
 
Oh that's awesome, Anne! I have a ginormous laundry room and I would love to do something cool with it. Right now it just seems to be the place where junk collects :(

we remodeled our bathroom and made it thru...lol, what doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger right? lol, we have taken out walls and done a lot together, this one is long over due! I can not wait!

Yes this. Exactly this!!
We just had a similar thing happen (well happening). Our pipes under the tub (yes under!) broke and they had to break up the tub, the surround, dig holes in our closet floor and in our bathroom wall to find and repair the leak. So yep. We will have a new bathroom. Of course it had to happen in December....but anyway I don't want to hijack a thread.
BUT again. Boo water! YAY: New laundry room!!

How exciting!! (not the water, but the new laundry room) I would love an actual laundry room. Our upstairs washer and dryer are just in a hall closet with double doors and a laundry sink. It gets the job done, but on laundry day I tend to have a series of piles lined up down the hallway waiting for their turn. :-/
 
Yay for a remodel! Even if a little mess preceded it. Love the look of you new area to be. Lol to the Pinterest being crack! Yep. :)
 
That is SO funny that our site maintenance cause you too... *gasp... CLEAN!! HAHA!!
YAY for clean areas, BOO for the naughty washer... AND WOOT!! A new remodel.
That a way to turn a negative into a positive. :)
 
That is going to be beautiful when it's done! I agree with the previous, BOO on the water, YEAH on the remodel!
 
Isn't it amazing what one can accomplish when they step away from the puter; Been there myself! :-) That laundry room looks awesome; I hope the hubby can pull it off! :-)
