At my mri today the tech dude and i were chatting about my IVC filter I had put in last year (spidery looking thing int he main vein in my abdomen to prevent my clot moving into my lungs/heart).. Anyway.. bc i was going into the super powered mri instead of the standard one he was being extra careful about my stuff (even my iud.. guy was on the ball).

anyway.. the past year i;ve assumed i had the creepy ugly spider looking ivc filter because of the diagrams they showed me in the hospital.... but he told me that i had a different one...

and it looks like a pretty flower!

it's called a gunther tulip .. and i'm apparently fascinated with it all over again :p

well, hey now...that is very pretty for an ivc filter. it's like you are carrying around your own piece of fun modern art. LOL

how did the MRI go?
 
i cried :p

it went swell. LOL they brought ian back there bc it was quite clear i was about to give myself a heart attack. BUT.. they were way awesome.. like i said i was using the super powered one which = bigger, and they let me go in feet first which helped a ton.. I still thought i was going to die...
and like i said i cried .. for like 20 minutes :p while i was in the tube.. but i didn't use the emergency get me the heck outa here button and toughed it out.

woo. done :p

Pretty, huh?!?!? Not too bad if ya gotta have one. Want my pacemaker?!?!? It even protrudes out just a lil' bit too. LOL :) It's all good....at least we're still here, right?
 
I have an IUD and a lap band, so the last time I needed a chest x-ray, I was quite the spectacle at the urgent care. lol
 
Glad you got your scan done La. I was wondering though after I saw your post on FB too, did they not offer to give you a mild form of sedation to relax you? Or did you just not want to go that route?
 
Oh pretty and I totally thought the same thing, that they would make great earrings

So glad you made it through and thankful that Ian was there for support!
 
I can understand not loving the MRI. I think it's creepy being put into a TINY tube with a horrible jack-hammer sound
going so loudly all around you. Understandable.

Glad you don't have to worry about the scan anymore, it's just done!

I hope you get good results from this scan.
 
That's kinda cool. At least the test is over now! I don't think I'd handle an MRI very well.
 
Hee hee when I first opened this I thought it was some sort of jewelry :) Glad the scan went well!!

I'm so glad it's over. I am severly clausterphobic, so I think I'd have a full on panic attack.

Glad it went well - sorry you were so anxious! Did they not give you something for anxiety?
