So inquiring minds (me) want to know... what do you have on your walls? Photos? Scrapped pages? Art? Shelves? Nothing?

I'm just asking because in the past, our living room walls were totally unadorned. In the office (where I spend most of my time), I put up photo walls on two of the four. We have wainscoting for the bottom third (our house is old-school farm with 100+ year old wood/trim). But I put a ton of framed pics on those walls. Now I've slowly started to put things in the living room/dining room. On one wall of the dining room I have a bunch of silver serving trays in various shades of tarnish and two small mirrors. On another wall, I have a large mirror and framed photo of our cat who passed away, and on the third dining room wall, I have a resin deer bust that is painted white with silver antlers.

In working on the living room, on one wall, I have two gorgeous prints from Sissy Sparrows (framed) and a small framed print from Mark Ryden. I'm trying to figure out size/spacing to add more, but I may just leave it at that.

I guess I feel weird that I spend all of that time scrapping, but I have no printed layouts in my house. Do you?

What other sorts of things do you have decorating your home?

We have a mix of things hanging in our house. on one wall in our living room we have those picture ledges with framed photos. We also have a mix of art we have purchased over the years - some actual paintings and some prints. I have some scripture subway type art in various places in the house as well. There are lots of free downloads for subway art on-line.

I also love maps. an entire wall in my office area is a world map. and we have a fun US map that we were going to use to mark places we've visited, but once I framed it I have been too lazy to keep opening it up to put the stickers on.

I have scrapbook albums on a shelf in the living room - but no printed layouts displayed.

I stink at figuring out what to put on walls. I recently repainted my family room and other than one giant photo of a pier in the ocean and a clock, I don't have anything on the walls yet. I do have another canvas photo that I am going to put back up, but I can't decide if it should be all by itself, or in a grouping with something else. Mostly all our other walls have photos or photo collages, but not scrapbook pages. I have those in my photo books on the bookshelf in my living room.

I would really love to make some mixed media something to put up in the family room though...

I have a mixed bag. I have some art that we bought overseas and an oil painting that my mom did. We also have a gallery wall of photos above the couch. Several years ago, I found a frame that has three 5x5 frames and I will occasionally print out layouts in that size and change them up. All of my layouts are printed and in albums on the book shelf though.

my kids' room has letters. (photos to be scrapped soon :giggle) our office has nothing yet, though we had intended on hanging hubby's guitars on the wall (he bought the hooks over a year ago). nothing in the hallway yet. Our bedroom has our marriage license in a frame on the wall.... in our old apartment we also had some of my pregnancy boudoir photo shoot pics up. Our living room has a GIANT mirror on the wall... like 6 or 7ft long by 3 or 4ft high. Currently, it's behind our TV (which is much much smaller.... lol). Our south wall is intended to be my photo wall - i have it mapped out, but need to scrap/choose the pics I want in the frames. We have a caricature of hubby and I from our honeymoon, and a "collage" of 3 wedding photos on the wall.

We've lived here a year and a half. :giggle

We just painted most of our house, so nothing is on the walls right now. I'm not sure if I even want any of those back up on the walls, so I'm kind of waiting to see if something else inspires me. I just had a mantel, stone and gas fireplace insert put in too, so now I need something to decorate the mantel with. I'm also waiting on new furniture to arrive, and then I'll have a better idea of what to put up.

I'm thinking of picking up some prints when I go to Alaska this summer (local artists) and I might frame those for my walls.

My wall decor tends toward quite eclectic. I have different stuff I've picked up in my travels, like some wooden masks we bought in Australia and a Mowri (sp?) painting from the same trip. I have some Mexican artwork, pictures of the family, some original oil on glass prints from the Eastern Townships artists, a couple of Art photos.... I have a raku mask I made, but no other artwork from myself. I do have a couple of great pages I'd like to recreate in watercolour overlays, but I haven't figured out how to achieve the effect I'm thinking of yet.
