Wake up call | Pad Patter 2.1.17

I have an alarm, but I don't need it. Mr Bellamy is pretty much in our bed every night at the moment (night terrors) and he is a wiggle worm. By 6am I am so over the wiggling and the touching, that I am up.

This morning was different. I nearly pushed him out of bed, because when he woke up, he screamed at his sister for turning off My Little Pony.
Our door was shut.
He couldn't see the tv.
MLP was still on (not sure who put it on... weird).
Melody wasn't in the room.
He was screaming at me.
Not cool.
Wanted to thump him.

Good morning!!!

Let's see... my son usually crawls into bed with us between 4-6 am so I wake up then, again when my husband's alarm goes off at 6:30, and I may or may not fall back asleep until my alarm goes off at 7 depending on whether my son gets up with my husband or my husband comes back into the bedroom to look for clothes or my son comes back in the room to ask me to help him poop/get milk/random other questions that don't need to be asked before 7 am.

I can't wait to live in a bigger house. I'm a light sleeper, and our rental house has our bedroom right off the kitchen, back door, and basement door so there is lots of noise to be heard and I hear it all. I long for a two story house where my bedroom can be up and away from the morning hubbub.

If I wake up after having 3-4hrs of sleep, there is no way I can get back to sleep. So, I'm usually up pretty early. I have an alarm, but rarely need to use it. At 650a, I walk down the 30 foot hallway saying "Goodmorning everybody, rise & shine!" If they don't get up right away, I threaten to sing showtunes.

I'm fortunate that most days I can wake up whenever I want to. My girls make snarky remarks about it sometimes, and I just remind them that I earned that right. Some day, they'll be able to do that.

Flip, I dont need an alarm I'm awake at a sparrows fart now that this Perimenopause thingo is taking hold of me!

I wake up to either the Fire Pager or my phone going off which I set for 30 minutes early so my DH and I can cuddle for 30 minutes. Our favorite time if the morning.

Alarm clock. It's the only time when I'm truly alone in the house (sort of) and I'm very possessive of this time. I try to wake up about an hour and a half or so before anyone else (my youngest seems to want to be awake whenever I am, so it's a bit of a race some mornings) just to have time alone. That's 4:00 am during the week (alarm clock), 5:30 am on Saturday (phone), and 5:00 am on Sunday (phone). :)
