I have a little digital hack that you may or may not know about . . .
I use it frequently as a designer, when making new products, but also when I’m creating digital scrapbook pages and it has SO many benefits!
Do you have five minutes or so?
I’ll show you how to extract an area of paper onto it’s own layer ready for further manipulations.

- Become your own paper designer

- Stretch your stash by combining papers you already own and create new ones!
- Use this technique as a fun way to play ‘peek - a - boo’ - try popping threads or paper ephemera into little paper tucks for a new fun twist in your pages . . .
- Works best with collage style papers or where paper is a little ‘lifted’
- It’s also a great technique to create the illusion that your photos are part of a Collage. After creating your mask and clipping your photo to it try using the different blending modes to add realism.
