Today, I was honored to write a post about Veterans Day. Learn why there is no apostrophe, and see some of the men and women that serve right here with our foamily in the Lily Pad.

I am thanking my husband (Air Force), my dad (Navy) and all those who served with me during the 6 1/2 years I was in the Air Force. It seems like another life, yet how I love this country.

Please, tell us about your Veteran, and join me in honoring them especially today! Feel free to add a photo or layout you may have done to show them off too! ♥

My father comes from a family of 17 children, 9 of which were boys. Of those 9, 8 served in the military including my dad. One of his brothers was killed in action in WWII. Their father was also a veteran although he never saw action since he was only in for 2 months. He went in through a ROTC type program in October 1918, just before WWI ended. His official discharge date was December of 1918.

I spearheaded a family campaign to get all of the family members a banner in our town that honors anyone that has served in the military (there are over 600 banners hanging on light poles through out town). My uncle that was killed is located downtown with others that gave their life. My grandfather and the other 7 sons are all hanging on a street along side Lowe's... a well traveled street! As a family we are all very proud of our veterans.

This is a layout I did of the brothers and the photos used on their banners.

My oldest son! I am so proud of him and so happy that he's home now after a 407 day deployment to the middle east!!

What a fabulous post Anne! I loved all of those layouts honors veterans! Thank you too for your service Anne! We have lots of vets in my family too. My Dad served several tours in Vietnam and 3 of my 4 grandparents served in WWII.

Loved all these layouts - Ok I need to get some done for my grandfather (WWII), My father-in-law (WWII), and my dad (Vietnam). Thanks to everyone who served and to the families who missed them while they were gone.

@AnneofAlamo - my dad was also Air Force - love seeing those uniforms

Well. I learned something. I wrote Veteran's day on my post today. Eeek.

We visited a local Veterans Memorial Park. We were able to talk to a veteran and asked them about their branch of service and we thanked him for his service. We also talked about different family members and friends who had served. We have an uncle, a grandfather, 2 great grandfathers, and cousins who have served...plus several friends.
