So, against my reservations, I got 3 shots yesterday. Was feeling fine, then the soreness set in. 2 in my left arm which by the time I went to bed I was having trouble holding my kindle to read. I tossed and turned all night as I prefer to sleep on my left side, but that HURT. I’m still not feeling well today, but the soreness is subsiding. Not gone yet, but I can use my arm to push myself up now. Got a nap, hoping to get some energy back soon. But the Shingrix one is still by far the single most difficult one.

Oh Lisa, @elseepe try an ice pack on it .. it will have the pain subside a bit. Feel better

I got the first shingles vax around the beginning of 2023, along with covid and flu. I regretted getting all three at once. The second dose of shingles vax 6 months later wasn't too bad though.

I just got my pertussis booster and owwwww. I did it with the flu shot and I was not thrilled. The pharmacist and I were doing the "you can swear quietly as long as you remember who you're doing it for.*" I can't imagine how bad the Shingrix one is.

* my son, who is immunodeficient

I agree Shingrix was no fun, but I suppose it beats the horror stories I've heard (and seen) of shingles. I also agree with Michele that my second one was not as bothersome at the first. Feel better! One good news though - it means your immune system is responding to and developing antibodies against the things you got vaccinated against. So you have a healthy immune system... got to look for the silver linings :) Feel better!

I hope you feel completely better soon. You never know when they’re going to wipe you out or hurt a lot!

Goodness, sending a gentle hug.
I have a friend that has shingles and has had it for 4 weeks. That's no fun either.

I know I need to get the shingles vaccines, but I keep putting it off because I've heard it's a doozy! Sorry you weren't able to sleep and are sore! I hope it gets better fast!

Thank you all for your wishes of getting over it quickly. For clarification, I didn't actually get the Shingrix this time, that was last year. But I did get updated Covid, Flu in my left arm and pneumonia in my right. Interestingly, my left arm initially was the one that was super sore, the soreness in lingering more in my right. I did nothing but lay on couch and nap intermittently yesterday. Happy to be moving again today even if not fully back to normal yet.

Just signed up for my flu shot this morning. Gonna do mine one at a time though. Lol. Thankfully my workplace bring the flu shots to us. :agree

Shingrix is a tough one, especially if you've had shingles. BUT it is still 1000% better than getting shingles. I've had both and would happily get the vaccine again in spite of my awful reaction both times vs. getting shingles again!

This reminds me to get the vax. I had shingles a few yrs ago and it was not fun I tell you but I was lucky that it wasn't as bad as some others I know. But still...not something I want to get again. I will gladly accept any pain/discomfort from the vax. I will look into it here to see where and when I can get it.
