Okay, remember the thread I started yesterday saying how we were so close to getting a new puppy??? Well...

The person sent payment information, and it's NOT pay pal. They just gave me their straight up bank account #. It made me feel uncomfortable. I just feel like there's no protection for us. And they want full payment before they'll do anything because of the cost of shipping and so forth. I think I'm going to have to back out. :cry
 
Are you able to send a postal order? Or something like that where you will be covered for the cost if all falls through??
 
Oh no, Rebecca! that must be such a let down.

Luckily our breeder was just set up for PayPal so we could sent our money that way. Does the breeder take visa? Visa usually has buyer protection (at least here in Canada they do). It's pretty normal for a reputable breeder to get full payment up front. I hope it all works out. Have you asked if they could set up for PayPal? It's pretty easy, even on the merchant side.

Oh no! Maybe if you offer to pay the pay pal fees they might do it.
 
Can you send registered mail that would verify that she received payment? So she can't come back at you later for it. Do you have a website, mailing address, phone number...all her info to check that she is who and where she says she is? I hate for you to lose out on getting the puppy but you have to be sure its a safe, legit sale. Good luck. Fingers crossed this works out.
 
okay, the seller did give me paypal info. also, personal address, phone # and references to other people in various area codes who have purchased from them in the past. so it seems fairly legit.
 
Rebecca, you are SO smart to be careful about that!! My aunt very nearly got super-duped on a puppy purchase just last week. Glad everything worked out. Looking forward to photos!

OKAY LADIES!!!! Puppy gets here TOMORROW!!!! We go get her at the airport at either 11:30 or 1:30, depending on which flight he is able to put her on. Hoping for the 11:30 because it's a direct flight, and less chance for something to go wrong. With the other flight, it goes through Atlanta. But here's the thing... if it's over 90 degrees in Atlanta, they will not ship animals. Soooo, if it's a warm day there, she could get stuck in Atlanta overnight waiting for the temp to drop... dumb. The good news is, though, that it has cooled off on this side of the country, and it's not supposed to get that high for tomorrow. Either way, I prefer the direct flight and the earlier arrival time!!
 
BTW, the kids have chosen the name Arya for her (from Game of Thrones.... no, my kids do NOT watch the show, but they liked the name)
