TV shows you can't miss

I'm not sure how anyone likes fictional television more than fictional books. I like documentaries, nature programs or any TV that provides true information I am interested in. For fiction - I go to books, they seem richer to me. Fictional TV has too many commercials for me.

@Lindzee I like documentaries, not all the time but some amazing ones on Netflix, but I really like to watch films & TV to escape the harsh reality of what goes on in the world (mine and the global) ....so I love stuff that makes me laugh..... whilst not able to scrap, I watched the whole 9 seasons of The Big Bang Theory and loved every minute....
but like watching lots of crime stuff (fictional) and rom coms and..well, I love sci fi.... but some things I start and the make me nervous so I ll go onto something else, like in Jessica Jones... I knew I could NOT take David Tenant as a bad guy...so I gave up LOL

I watch a lot of tv. I love This Is Us. I also like Blacklist, Designated Survivor,Criminal Minds, Chicago Fire, Blindspot and Bull. I'm going to check out Westworld too.
LOVE Criminal Minds!!!!! just gutted that Morgan (Shemar Moore) left!!!! the new season here started Monday here!!!
Also Blindspot LOVE it!!! I hope the make series 2.
Started watching Designated Survivor but then I started scrapping...... LOL

I have the Blacklist and How to Get Away with Murder on DVR and don't want to miss those. American Horror Story is another. Seahawks games. The X-Files (old and new). I'm waiting for The Fall (season 3) to hit Netflix this weekend so I can binge on it. And I almost always watch old re-runs of Law & Order and I definitely watch can't miss re-runs of Law & Order: Criminal Intent even though I've seen each episode a billion times.

How to Get Away with Murder!!!!! we watched in 2014 and LOVED it, but stopped when we traveled to South America. We had it on record, but something went wrong and we missed the last 2 episodes of series 1, then couldn't catch up 2... I may need to find it on Netflix and catch up
Also started watching X Files , we used to watch it with Andy but so long has gone it was all new to me!!!
Used to LOVE Criminal Intent with Donofrio.... then I kinda like (the fly guy? name? LOL) but I rather scrap LOL we stopped watching SUV too, but sometimes I catch some of the first L&O, first series they made...and re watch

I watched the Aussie, Glitch on Netflix and LOVED it so much I watched in 2 days!

I love The Big Bang and try not to miss it. I also love Dancing with the Stars, even if I have never heard of the "stars"... ha ha. Its just happy, all that dancing and music. I also love many Canadian comedy shows, and some British ones as well. These things are intrinsically good. I guess I was trying to say that TV s not my first (or even second) choice in entertainment.
If there is no replacement in reading about something, I watch. If there is: I read about it instead. I find I may discover a diverse interesting position or more information in reading. But laughter and plain entertainment is so important.

@Lindzee agree with you on the reading... I have to admit I don't read as much now I scrap, have been reading a book for about 3 weeks now.... in other times, 2 , 3 years ago...I would have read it in 3 days!!! mt reading and comprehension are suffering hugely, so I have to go back and read again, and sometimes two or three time4s that I have to go back 2 or 3 pages to know what it was going on.... I really hope they will be able to chance my medication back because it is , to put it mildly, frustrating, but I'm getting by...that's why it is easier for me with TV/Netflix Amazon videos... even though some times I also need to go back an episode or two to remember and be able to continue watching, and sometimes I only realize I had seen the movie when I am in the last 10 minutes!!!! LOL

I like the tv on for noise in the background some nights. I listen to music too, but if DH is working and the munchkin is in bed, it gets a little too quiet, and every sound is an intruder breaking into my house! :giggle I like to watch cooking shows - The Great British Bake Off is one of my favorites while I scrap. I also like A Chef's Life, but I find I keep rewinding it to see what I missed, so I don't watch it and scrap anyone. Things like Chopped or Hell's Kitchen or Project Runway or Face Off (the makeup show) I can listen to, and just watch the presentation of the food, or the runway walk or the faces. I don't have to watch them making everything, so it's easy to scrap too.
I tried audiobooks, but I end up paying too much attention to the books and stop scrapping! So, I audiobook or podcast while I cook in the kitchen or clean house. Books are awesome, I read a lot too.

Also started watching X Files , we used to watch it with Andy but so long has gone it was all new to me!!!

Oh Cynthia. X-Files is one of my favorites. Add to it the different orders you can watch it (the Conspiracy ones, the Monster of the Week ones, the "out there" episodes) it's almost a different show when you do that!

My must watch shows right now are This is Us (my FAVORITE!!!), Designated Survivor and Gray's Anatomy. I have a few others on Netflix that I watch when I'm on the treadmill if I'm caught up on all of the others.

TWD - the premiere was shocking and sad!

We also watch The Strain and Fear the Walking Dead. On my own, I'm watching Bones (last season :( ) and Law & Order: SVU.

I heard about This is Us and how good it is. I have it on my list to watch along with Once Upon A Time.

I think I'm enjoying This is Us. the first episode I think my jaw dropped 10 feet. I was NOT expecting that ending. That hooked me. I'm not sure I like Kate's boyfriend. He drives me a bit insane. But I'm enjoying the show so far. Especially the flashback scenes :)

my not to miss shows are too many to list LOL. I'm sooo far behind on my dvr.

We just got back from vacation so I missed all the new season premieres. Our daughter recommended Westworld and I'm hooked but need to go back and watch the first couple of episodes. I generally like action or historic dramas, so Elementary, Blacklist, Blindspot and Poldark are faves right now.

Are there any other good new action series this season?

I don't watch a ton of TV, but I LOVE "This is Us". I love Survivor too -although this season seems a bit lame to me!

TV has too many commercials for me.
I never watch shows live for just that reason. DH never watches tv, so it was my decision to up our service to the built in recorder. Best money spent. I read in the late afternoon before dinner and in bed but my eyes need that distance break that tv provides.

Now I must add This is Us before this season's shows already shown disappear! I have Westworld recorded but haven't watched yet. DH is going away so I can have a few binge sessions!

I haven't heard of This is Us. I'll have to go see if my xfinity has it. I've just set my DVR to record Pure Genius. It premieres tonight, so we'll see if it's as good as it looks.

I haven't watched Chicago Fire or Westworld, but I'll have to check them out. I do love the same ones as you - Blacklist, Designated Survivor,Criminal Minds, Blindspot and Bull.

For years I never watched any tv in fact didn't even have a tv when I remarried in 2001. The time before and after my knee replacement had me sitting with the ice machine on my knee or stretching that knee and I got really hooked on tv - always recorded so I can zap through the commercials. I'm in @bcgal00 's camp. I like action. Blacklist, Elementary, Designated Survivor (sloooo getting going imho), NCIS:New Orleans, Madame Secretary, most any show set in Washington DC! Then there are the PBS ones....Poldark, The Durrells on Corfu, Vera and probably a couple or so more.

8pm-10pm...don't interrupt me and my tv! :crazy3

I too like I like action shows. Blacklist, Designated Survivor, Madame Secretary, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans. I also like the avengers type shows. Marvel Secret Agents of Shield, The Flash, Arrow, DC Legends of Tomorrow.

I like food and home improvements shows too. Diner, Drive-ins and Dives, Guy's Grocery Games, Halloween Wars, Fixer Upper, Property Brothers, etc.

Back in 2001, when we got married and had a teeny tv, we watched the kitchen design shows and cooking shows while we ate dinner. 2004 we started our kitchen renovation and continued to watch cooking shows after the reno was finished but now I haven't watched them in a dozen years or so.

I love food shows. I watch Hells Kitchen, Masterchef, Chopped, Food Network Star, Top Chef and anything with Jamie Oliver.

I also like Pioneer Woman, Farmhouse Rules, and Worst Cooks in America. The Halloween Baking Championships have been entertaining too. I don't know how people can come up with an idea and make it in so little time. It takes me all day to figure out what's for dinner and that's cooking with normal items and following a recipe.

Oh gosh, I don't follow a series anymore. I do like to have Murder She Wrote on while I'm scrapping or doing homework. I do look forward to the new Hallmark Mysteries when they come out.

Loving This is Us and it's totally not a show I thought I would like. But my 2 "can't miss" are Criminal Minds and Code Black. Also love the Chicago ones like I said.
