I'm really feeling it today after a super busy, fun-filled holiday weekend. I know it's Tuesday but my brain thinks it's Monday and my body wishes it was Saturday or Sunday so I could go back to bed. :giggle

Are you struggling this Monday... err, I mean Tuesday morning?

I know what you mean. The other thing that screws us up after holidays is garbage day LOL. Every time there is a holiday the pick-up day for garbage gets moved to the next day so I can't tell you how many times we brought the bins out front a day ahead b/c we forgot about the holiday changing the pickup day. We are not allowed to keep them out so we'd have to bring them back in at some point throughout the day.

Oh yes, I forgot about that. We put our trash out last night and it's still sitting there this morning. But here you're supposed to put it out just in case waste management does make it to your street to pick up the trash.

I got up this morning and wondered why the Monday compartment of my pill box was empty. Oh yeah, it's Tuesday. At least it's a short week and Saturday will be here soon!

Well, living in Sweden, it was just an ordinary Monday yesterday, and I was working half-day. Now I'm free for 3 weeks! Maybe that's why I woke up this morning convinced it was Friday??? LOL

I never know what weekday it is, and I wish I could just go with the feeling I have (every morning) what day it is. I'm a rebel, I don't want to conform to your calendar. LOL

I could see myself doing that. Saturday can't come soon enough... :giggle

YAY for 3 weeks of freedom... ENJOY!

I'm actually feeling pretty good on this Tuesday!! This is my last week to work summer school, so I'm super excited to get through it! I'm ready for some major down time!! My biggest issue will be remembering what day to take the trash out haha.

I'm going to be even more a mess tomorrow because we got the 4th and the 5th off work, so tomorrow is my Monday/Wednesday. I'll be all confused for sure. BUT... it's a 3 day work week and I'm pretty happy about that!

That's what it's like during the school year, but I'm a teacher (and student) so over the summer I can't keep it straight no matter how short or long the weekend is. I spent all day thinking it was Wednesday and I had class tonight, and people kept having to remind me it was only Tuesday.

LOL ... I would have forgotten to put out my recycle bin last night, but a friend mentioned needing to remember to put out her trash.

*My* Chase (youngest live-in GK) just started summer school yesterday ... or as it's called "credit recovery" ... although since he's taking his core classes in alternative school he's just continuing to work his way through geometry under supervision, LOL!!! He's also been taking 10th grade PE/Health online through his regular high school (confused yet???). I'm still not sure how he managed to flunk PE ...

Hopefully he'll pass both classes, then he just needs to complete 4 core classes through the alternative school this coming school year and he can graduate next June. I will be so glad to be through with school ...

I had a handyman contractor at my house on Friday and Saturday. He did take Sunday and Monday off. But he was here Tuesday to finish up. Thankfully the few things he had to do were in the garage since it was raining off and on. He's all done now so I could actually sleep in today!

I'm more looking forward to my summer TV programs starting tonight. I've missed my regular reality TV programs in the evenings. Those are how I remember what day it is!

I remembered!! I just got in from taking it out :giggle
We have a "credit recovery" program in addition to our regular summer school classes. It's for those students who only had part of a class to finish up. Sounds like that's what he is doing as well.
I'm always surprised at the number of kids who flunk PE! I tell them all the time that I'd like to have close to an hour a day to just go play lol.
Good luck to him!! Just keep reminding him that it's almost over as long as he hangs in there!! I feel ya for sure. My youngest graduates next June, but my oldest is 31, so I've had kids in school for a very long time!! I just feel very fortunate that this last one hasn't been nearly the struggle that the other two were :giggle.

I was okay although I was missing my kids who had been gone since last Thursday.

My BF, however, works two jobs: 40+ hours M-Th at his primary job and then 8-9 hours F at his second job. Having Monday off meant that he has to work OT Tuesday & Thursday + miss seeing his kids because he has to work OT Wednesday, too. On this new schedule, Monday nights are the only time he has to cook for the week, run errands, etc. so that was thrown off, too, since he was here with me until 8 pm or so (and lives 2 hours away).

We're always messed up after a holiday. However, I quite frequently get confused on what day it is. Funny thing, I always know the date, but not the day. Weird, huh? The only thing I can attribute it to is my CT deadlines - I don't log in the DAY, just the DATE. My dd constantly asks me what date it is. She knows the day, so we're a good pair. :lol:lol

Last school year (2020-2021) Chase only passed one class (criminal justice) during the regular school year, then went to credit recovery and passed two more. Then last fall he was flunking all of his classes, and skipping school so they moved him to the "Interagency Alternative School" for his core classes ... not sure if IAS is just a Fairfax County program or state-wide. IAS is in a trailer behind our neighborhood high school. So he spent part of the day in the trailer doing classes online, then had strats for success in the high school, then criminal justice in the academy wing of the building.

In May he was flunking all of his core classes, but pulled himself together and passed three of the four, so he's only doing credit recovery for geometry. Then regular summer school for Health/PE.

I flunked a quarter in PE ... we had a sub that quarter, and she mixed me up with another girl marked me as not taking a shower ... so I flunked. Yep, back in the 1967 you had to take a shower and it counted towards your grade ...

Anyhow, my "kids" will be 49 and 47 this year, and the older live-in GKs are 27 and 25 ... I struggled with all of them, so I'm happy to see the light at the end of the school tunnel. At least I *hope* it's sunlight, not an oncoming train. :)

I teach in VA, and our alternative school is called AEP "alternative education program" and it is housed at the other high school in our county in a separate little building. But, ours only goes up to a certain age. We offer in house credit recovery, but they have to have room in their schedule for an extra class to do that, or they can sign up to do it on their own time.
I watched 3 kids graduate in a mini-ceremony today. They had flunked a class or two and didn't get to walk with their class, but they all finished with summer school.
I remember the days of having to shower after gym. Our kids don't even have to change clothes anymore.
I'm wishing you nothing but light at the end of that tunnel!! Tell Chase there's a teacher in southwest Virginia who's rooting for him and will be looking forward to graduation layouts this time next year!!

LOL ... I haven't even scrapped his siblings grad photos yet. And they graduated in 2013 and 2015.
