I am just thinking about everyone impacted by the awful weather the last few days. We were under Tornado warning here in KC for about 7 hours on Sunday and spent about an hour of it in the basement. Thankfully, everything passed with no incident. I know we have some members who were in the paths of the latest tornadoes...praying all of you are safe! Check in and let us know how you're doing.

They had been talking about these storms and how bad they would be since last week Tuesday which is a pretty big deal in the weather world (I have a degree in meteorology). I just can't imagine what these people are going through so I will just keep praying for all those affected by these storms.

Thoughts and prayers to all those in the path of these storms! So scary!! Living in the mountains, we don't really deal with tornadoes at all, but I have lots of friends in some of these areas. Hope everyone is safe!

We used to live in KC, and the tornadoes were my very least favorite thing about that area.. Hoping everyone made it through okay.. :heartlub

Well.....3 years later and we're in the same boat with the same town and this time it took the whole town out! Vilonia, AR is about 7 miles north of our home and believe me, Sunday evening was scary! That was a big, destructive storm! We are very fortunate where we live but just 7 miles......and there's absolutely nothing!!! And what gets DH and I.....we stopped Saturday evening at the Harps grocery store in Vilonia to get a few things. Now it's gone! In a blink of eye so much can change. Please keep all affected by these storms in your prayers.

We were under a watch for a good chunk of Sunday, but it never escalated to a warning, thank goodness. DH used to drive through Vilonia almost every weekend on his way back and forth between Jonesboro to Fayetteville. I can't believe they were hit for a second time in such a short amount of time. I won't lie, tornadoes terrify me.

I woke up at 4am Tuesday morning and spent about an hour on my front porch trying to get a good shot/video of the amazing lightning storm, LOL. (while DH was watching the local weather on TV) Then the alarms when off and we were under a warning for about an hour, taking cover with the family. Fortunately, there were just downed trees/power lines around us and nothing bad at our home. The only tornado that touched down was about 30 miles from us and fortunately, no one was hurt.

My prayers are for those who lost everything. And especially for those who lost their lives.

In 2009 my kids school was destroyed by a tornado. 1 hour after they got the last child out. I still cry just thinking about that and am so grateful for the responsiveness of the administration that day.
