Tom's Shoes girls, please help!!

I bought my first pair yesterday...well, actually I bought 2 pairs. I bought brown and red, and they both fit differently. I could move my feet around in the size 9's, so they told me to go smaller. The red 8.5's fit nice and snug, but I don't feel like my foot is going to explode in them and my big toes aren't going to poke through. The opposite is true with the brown pair. I've worn them for a couple of hours already, but the left foot still feels like my toe is going to poke through, and my foot feels like it's so crammed in it's going to fall asleep. My left foot is my bigger foot though, but I'm afraid they won't stretch enough.

My normal size is a 9 wide, and sometimes I can fit into a 9.5 if something is too narrow for my foot.

Did I get the wrong size? Should they have just fit my foot snuggly but not tight? Do you find that different colors run differently in how they fit? I bought them at Nordstrom, so i probably could exchange them even though I've worn them. They are the ones that told me to get that size.

My sister always gets hers snug (like a half size down) because she finds that hers always stretch...but I think she only has the Canvas. What material are yours?

I literally just ordered the herringbone and a pair of tweed. I decided to order my actual size instead of down because after I read the reviews those two didn't seem to have as much stretch as the canvas does...so I think it does depend on the material of the shoe.

These are both the canvas ones. I'd love the new fall tweed ones too...I just saw them online. I was looking for something on their website to help me with the fit, but I didn't see it. I see they have an online chat though, so I might go into it and ask!

I know...that's what I was thinking. I should just go ask her on fb! I just didn't realize that every pair would fit differently. I'd have a hard time ordering them online.

I just got my first pair in the mail on Friday and they are super cute! I got the plaid ones and I got my normal size. They fit, but not super snug. I have wiggle room and things, but I like that. I hate constricting shoes. If I could wear flip flops all year I would be happy LOL!
