So how do you come up with page titles? I almost dread coming to the end of the page knowing that I need to add not just the title, but then the title work. It's always the part of the page that I get stuck on . . . always!

Anyone else have trouble? ;)

Well...not every page needs a title on the page-in the gallery it does, but that's a little different. I sometimes go easy and use word art. Or the subject of the layout ("Lizardy Dreams" is one example, or "I Love Staples"). Often, the theme is evident in the photographs, or elements; honestly, how many titles can you think of for every Summer page you've ever made? It doesn't even have to be large. I think if you start out with an actual *story* instead of a collection of photos thrown together, the titles/themes grow themselves.

I recently gave up on page titles. I mean, sometimes they add to the design, but if I can't think of something? Or if it just doesn't work within the page design, I leave it out. the important part of the layout are the pictures, right? and the journaling. The pictures should (should...) give you an idea of what the page is about. Of course, I just did a page last night about my daughter's trip to the Ped because of a tick and the picture I used is of her swinging on the playground..so in that case, the picture doesn't immediately tell you what the page is about. ha! when that happens though, I add themed motifs to give the viewer an idea of the page topic. but I digress. I'm chatty today. Been cleaning, painting and cooking all day. :P I guess I need some chat time now! ha!

I try to use titles. But if I don't feel it, it doesn't go on there. Sometimes I see a picture and I know for sure what I'll want my title to be, but other times I finish the page and I just don't feel it.

A lot of times when I am stuck on a title I go look one up at Scrapbook.com. They have a database of titles. Some of them are totally cheeseball-ish, but some of them make me think "why didn't I think of that first?".

I am the weird one that actually loves doing the title work--if I have a good title idea for the page. Other times, I am a huge fan of word art and like to just slap that on a page instead of a title!

I struggle with titles also, or more so with doing the actual title work. I always save it last or close to last. Journaling is another one that I struggle with. I will have a page complete in 30 min- 1 hour but it will sit in photoshop for days because I just can't bring myself around to do the journaling. I feel like I am always saying the same dumb ole' things. Like Becky, I do love using wordart for titles. It really helps me if I am struggling with what to go with.

i seriously suck at titles. i don't include them often.... usually i just write a little line blurb and pretend that is a title :p because bleeeeeeeh.

I'm one of those people who doesn't feel like my layout is complete unless I have a title. I do have a few layouts sans titles but they are very rare. However, I am not great at coming up with titles. Most of my titles are just a reiteration of what's going on on the page, nothing clever. I do like to use word art as titles sometimes, and have been known to take the name of a kit and use it as my title.

I am not in the majority I see, LOL, but I love titles! I love to make funky titles with different fonts and sometimes even elements mixed in! I liked the idea of looking up titles at scrapbook dot com, I will try that next time I'm stuck! Sometimes mine are just a description of what was going on, like my recent one of my date night with DH, was just titled "Cirque du Soleil", because that's where we went. But I had fun mixing alphas, etc. Other times I just use cornball cliches like, "Beach Baby", but hey, if its a picture of my baby on the beach, well, it fits LOL! Most of the time though its just a line that describes what's going on. Some of my most recent ones: Artists at Work, Egg Hunt, Road Trip, Chocolate Face. Simple but effective :) And the ultimate easy title is some of the awesome wordart from the Lilypad designers!!! :)

Titles are my nemesis, :td Sometimes I spend more time working on the title of a page than on the page itself, ugh. I need to learn to just let it go, :giggle

I love awesome title work. It's something I struggle with though, so more often than not...my page doesn't have a title.

I wrote newspaper headlines for years - it's not easy! But I think I use the same kind of method. What's the story you're trying to tell? Who, what, when, why? I often come up with titles when I take my pictures and write them down as soon as I can to remember them! I like playing with alphas and fonts, so a lot of my pages are designed around the type.

But who says you NEED a title???????? If it's making you stress, then it shouldn't be on your page! There are other things to help you tell your story - journaling, dates, names. The story is what's important! :)
