Well the ultrasound led biopsy with a core needle (not the thin needle) was not as bad as I had feared. Wasn't fun but I'm alive and only in minor discomfort. I get the results from it on May 12. The biopsy today was for the two masses near each other in the front part of the breast. On May 24 I go back to have another biopsy, for a different area in the back of the same breast, and he is using an xray to assist with that one and it has an even bigger needle. I don't get those results until June 2. I have a whole month of waiting.
The good news is that the ones he biopsied today were so small that after the biopsy they are even smaller. He's hoping he doesn't have to do them again b/c he might not be able to get enough material. These are the two masses that showed up on the sonogram and not the mammogram.
Thank you all so very much for your love and prayers and concern. I don't want to tell my family and friends until I have diagnosis. You guys, my husband, and my younger daughter are the only ones who know this scary part. I love being part of this wonderful community at the Pad. {hugs}
