Happy National thoughtful day!

This world is a beautiful place when we are thoughtful so let’s celebrate thoughtful gestures today.

When’s the last time someone did something thoughtful for you?
When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for someone else?
When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for yourself? Make sure you take care of you!
When you think of someone who is thoughtful, who comes to mind?

When’s the last time someone did something thoughtful for you?
DH got my water ready this morning. It’s the little things!

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for someone else?
I offered to drive my daughter to school this morning so she didn’t have to bike in the rain.

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for yourself? Make sure you take care of you!
I took a nap yesterday.

When you think of someone who is thoughtful, who comes to mind?
My neighbor Tami growing up. She always made me feel seen as a teenager.

When’s the last time someone did something thoughtful for you? My son went on a friends' trip to Las Vegas the week before school started and bought me the cutest little slot machine pencil holder for my birthday. I loved knowing that he even remembered my birthday and took the time to get me a present! :heartslub

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for someone else? I try to always be thoughtful, but of course I can't think of anything specific when you ask. :giggle OH! I wished my hubby good luck on his fantasy football draft before he went to it last night. Even though I know nothing about it, I know it's important to him.

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for yourself? Make sure you take care of you! I took time to work on a painting/art journal page on Sunday afternoon and it was so fun!

When you think of someone who is thoughtful, who comes to mind? My MIL. She's always helping others and thinking of others.

When’s the last time someone did something thoughtful for you ?
It was just before dinner when one of my boys came and emptied the dishwasher without me asking him to. I appreciated it because you always have to ask for help around the house.

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for someone else ?
I suggested to my eldest son that we go for a drive so that he could clock up some miles for his learner's licence. We sometimes go for a drive with no particular destination in mind.

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for yourself ? Make sure you take care of you !
So let's say it was this morning when I went to get my hair cut. I'm not the kind of person who really takes care of myself. I'm more like, if the children and my husband are fine, then I'm fine.

When you think of someone who is thoughtful, who comes to mind ?
My youngest son, despite his difficulties with social skills and such (he is autistic), is very kind.

When’s the last time someone did something thoughtful for you? Just last night, a lady at church, one of the older-than-me ladies, brought me a homemade, fabric-covered, portable footrest (just a block of wood, a little bigger than a brick)--it even has a fabric handle! It totally caught me by surprise. She had noticed that I, being of short stature, was having a hard time sitting in all the chairs in the building because my feet don't touch the ground (if you know, you know!). I was blown away by someone being that observant and THOUGHTFUL. I had noticed some ladies had these cute little things, but didn't ask anyone about them. Figured if I was THAT uncomfortable, I could get something like it, but really, it's been a life-long issue and I didn't think that much about it! (Yes, this will be a scrapbook page soon!)

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for someone else? I had a friend who died from Covid. She left behind 3 sons, one of whom was married with twins (boy and girl) and a new baby. Over the years, I have stayed in touch with this family, gone to baseball games, volleyball games, supported the daughter-in-law's business, helped with fundraisers for the kids' sports. But a couple of weeks ago, and I truly believe this was God-inspired, I was getting ready to reach out to her because I knew it was back-to-school time and both her twins are now in high school and I know how expensive their sports are. I was hopping on to Facebook to message her, and saw she had a post asking for financial help to cover a utility bill. I didn't hesitate to let her know I could cover the whole amount and double it, because that's what I had already planned to offer.

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for yourself? Make sure you take care of you! Oh, good grief. All I do is think about myself! A storm came through yesterday and somehow while my car was parked at work it got covered with mud. You better believe I took advantage of my new car wash membership and took care of that! No one's gonna muddy scrapchyck's Kia Soul and get away with it! LOL

When you think of someone who is thoughtful, who comes to mind? My friend Kathy. She's the one who brought Clementines over to my house during the Covid lockdown, left on my porch, when I posted on Facebook that I had a hankerin' for oranges. She remembers birthdays, she does so much behind-the-scenes to make people comfortable. Amazing person!

Here's the thing about thoughfulness. We can all have those kind thoughts, like, "I should pick up some special coffee drinks for the team before work." But it's not really thoughtfulness until you DO it. Change those shoulds to WILL! I will pick up some coffee for the team and follow through. (Okay, done preaching).

When’s the last time someone did something thoughtful for you? A friend of mine at work who convinced me to use some app that scans receipts and gives you back points for gift cards saved a small stash of receipts he couldn't use for me.
When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for someone else? Last night at silent book club there had been a new face that showed up right after me (we were both 15 mins early). She was alone in a corner at a table so I invited her to sit in the comfy couches with me. We chatted until it started and turns out she had just moved to the area a couple months ago.
When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for yourself? Make sure you take care of you! ooooohhhh - good question. Does ordering a chai tea when I left work yesterday because I wanted it count? hahaha. I did go to Pilates last night which is being thoughtful for my health.
When you think of someone who is thoughtful, who comes to mind? This one really stretched my mind today. I didn't think of anyone specific. I think it's more those small gestures and I peg someone as thoughtful. For example, I walk with a cane a lot. I use the doors that auto open. This is at work. I have to walk through three doors with auto openers (or manual openers) just to get to my desk, and three to go back to the car. Do you know how many people (men & women) can be walking in front of someone and DO NOT look behind them to see if they could hold the door for someone? Like 95% of the people. I work at a very large company. I'm pretty much always behind someone. Ditto for elevators. If you get on an elevator, take a look behind you to see if there was anyone and maybe at least make eye contact to hold the door. Sometimes I'm so unthoughtful that if someone allows the door to shut while I was walking up, I push the button when I know they haven't left yet. That's how fast it goes down. It opens on them. lol. Anyway, I went on a tirade a bit this morning. But I NOTICE those that actually look behind them and will attempt to hold the doors or elevator door.

wow! what a sweet person!!! And I agree - it's not thoughtful until you DO!

It IS the little things! and a nap sounds heavenly!

When’s the last time someone did something thoughtful for you?
We haven't been able to find the pre-made coffee I like at any stores near us so my husband grabbed me *two* expensive bottled coffee beverages at the pharmacy last night so I'd have caffeine today and tomorrow.

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for someone else?
I've been staying up until the wee hours of the night with the kiddo who won't sleep so my husband can get some sleep before work. (We're trading off over the weekend because kiddo needs to feel safe but the adults also need to let our bodies repair themselves.)

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for yourself? Make sure you take care of you!
I've been reading a ton while up with the kiddo. I spent a chunk of his early childhood too tired to read and it's nice to come back to one of my favorite things.

When you think of someone who is thoughtful, who comes to mind?
My mom. She's always sending me things she saw that made her think of me or my son (yesterday's was a new show coming to PBS Kids that we're all going to love) and trying to play with him so I can get time to myself

When’s the last time someone did something thoughtful for you?
My daughter dropped off a return package for me yesterday so I didn't have to go to the post office.

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for someone else?
This morning, I booked hotel rooms for all of us to go away for 3 days in September. We're going to Waterton, AB which is very scenic and we are hoping to see the bison and elk.

When’s the last time you did something thoughtful for yourself? Make sure you take care of you!
This morning I ordered a map book of Alberta so I can plan my driving trips more easily.

When you think of someone who is thoughtful, who comes to mind?
My mom. She was always thinking of others and loved to buy little gifts all the time for family and friends.

This post just makes me so happy! I love that your son thought of you on vacation! I’m in the stage of life where my kids only think about me if they need a ride somewhere lol

I can relate to so much of this Gaelle! I definitely appreciate when my kids or DH do anything around the house without me having to nag them to do it.

I love this so much Becky. I look forward to seeing your footrest scrap page so please tag me on it so I don’t miss it! I also love your God-inspired story about paying the utility bill - those are my favorite stories and always bring me to tears.

Yes chai tea and Pilates both count! ;) I’m sorry no one holds doors for you; that’s one thing I always try to do especially around my kids so they learn to do the same.
I need to know more about what silent book club is. Good job welcoming the newcomer!

Silent Book Club - a monthly 2 hour meeting. For 30 mins you chat and gather and get your coffee or wine (depending on where we meet), for one solid hour it's silent while everyone reads their own books, then the last 30 mins you gather and chat about what you read! It's a way to guarantee dedicated reading and support your reading addiction to find more books. lol
