I just posted this on facebook, but I'll post it here, too.

This is just not right. I'm not a fan of winter, but I shouldn't be outside watering my snowdrops, daffodils, tulips, rhubarb, boysenberries, hellebores, and the rest of my perennials that are making a showing in my yard on February 23. Did I happen to mention that it was 75 degrees outside at 5:00 p.m.? And that I saw a redbud tree in full bloom in Arlington today? I guess I need to go order the seeds for my garden, because it looks like Punxsutawney Phil got it wrong after all.

Anyone else seeing their gardens start to bloom one to two months early?

Yep, same here. We have had almost no winter. I'm not complaining, but it is kind of odd and eerie. 70 here today and suppose to be 75 tomorrow. All my flowers are popping up, and the birds and crickets are chirping like it's April. This time 2 years ago we had a -21 wind chill. This year we've had maybe one day below freezing in February.

I remember last year. I didn't like it, but at least it was winter. After I posted this a huge flock of geese flew overhead. I guess winter is gone!

It was almost 70 here ... but too early to start to see anything yet. We still have a bit of snow that needs to melt!

I am i the same boat, Michigan winter was very very mild this year and I'd much rather have it full winter, because I know either we're going to have a hot humid summer with droughts or a very rainy one.

Same here in South Carolina. We may have had 3 cold days and the rest have been humid if not HOT. I mean we hardly ever get any snow or ice here but we do usually have coldish weather at least up until April but not this year!

Well, here in sunny so cal, the weather is wild and crazy... Last week it rained so much on Friday that it shut down half the state, and created all kinds of havoc... By Saturday, the skies and roads were clear again, and my garden has no idea what it thinks is going on, lol... My blueberries are blooming and the strawberries too... But, the leaves haven't come in yet, that's just weird... My hands are cold but the rest of me is fine, for whatever that's worth, lol.

Huggles!!

We had NO summer here. It's hitting now (when it's about to be officially autumn) and is incredibly hot and sunny and the cicadas are chirping. But all through Jan and early Feb it was overcast and cold and wet and unbelievably "un-summery". That was apparently because in Australia (just across the Tasman sea) they were having a record heatwave with almost unsustainable temperatures. That messed with the whole climate here. The way it is going to be, I fear.

We were really warm (for Chicago) and now we're getting ready to do the up and down thing that makes my head throb. We were near 70 yesterday, mid 30's today, back up into the 50's tomorrow, then low 30's on Saturday, etc. etc.... you get the picture. My son works at a frozen yogurt shop and they were absolutely swamped all weekend because it was so springlike out.

This time 2 years ago we had a -21 wind chill.

Same here! Two years ago President's Day weekend my son and husband were supposed to our place in Michigan to go skiing but cancelled due to the extreme windchill. This year, we were walking around outside coatless.

It's supposed to snow again on Sunday too dang it. I'm ready for green grass & leaves on trees & flowers!!!
I almost edited my post to add that! LOL! Left you room to post too. Yeah I like snow but I do not like the thawing out process or this snow/rain/ice cold temps/ice on roads/etc etc cycle we are in. And I'm ready to go take some pictures with color. Might have to go to the conservatory at Manito for a flower fix.

It's rarely been cold here . . . and we usually have a good cold snap, at least for the past few years at least. I was just telling my hubby today that it was a mild winter. Azaleas are blooming everywhere here, and that's early for these parts.

Um, you are warmer than Vegas today! Sure, it's 6pm, but it's only 48 with the wind chill!

We have buds on trees, but I think that's normal for here. Not sure. We found some surprise carrots growing in the backyard, and they had a decent size top.

We had such a hot day yesterday, it was DD's swimming gala too, great for the kids but less great for the parentals. I got some nice photos though and now only have one more to go. I am sorry that you guys are missing Winter, but I for one am not sad to see Summer go!

They had an article in the Washington Post this morning about the weather and all the plants coming to life. It basically warned everyone to NOT rush out and do gardening with fragile plants. They reminded us that March is on its way, which is typically very cold, which would ruin all the fragile plants.

I did get my list of veggie seeds to purchase - and it's huge! eek! I have two 3'x8' raised beds for my veggie garden this year, and I'm eager to get started planning it all. But first I need to figure out how to keep the squirrels and such out of it. I'll most likely be building cages for my plants!

We broke records here (No. Illinois) for several days last weekend and earlier this week - last night we had some heavy thunderstorms and it's supposed to snow today.

Yes, here in KC too! It was 10 degrees warmer here than it was in Miami the other day. The horticologists are saying it could be very bad for some plants if we get a long lasting hard freeze right now, especially fruit trees.
