Is there anything you have learnt by some misfortune or twist of fate that really you shouldn't know?

For instance: this week I learnt how many parts are inside my car key, that all have to be in the right place & in the right order for the car to remote open in the first place, & then, to overcome the intended security of the engine immobiliser after breaking the afore mentioned key. (In case you are wondering how many parts are inside my hyundai key, the answer is too many!)

And, in what I can only describe as a seriously not funny coincidence, I found out less than 48hrs later what the inside of my husband's car key looks like & how many parts are inside it. The answer to this is 5 parts & it was much easier to reassemble, although I had to wrap *tape* around the outside of it to keep it together, (I don't know whether 80's TV problem solver, MacGuyver, would have been proud or shook his head in shame or disbelief)
These are things I hope no one else has had the misfortune of finding out when they are on the side of a busy road in the sun or need to be somewhere ASAP!

OMG... first time I did this, I freaked out, I couldn't put it back together!!!!!!!!

I have to say, never have i ever...discovered how many parts in my key or how hard it is to put it back together.

I did learn what happens to an arm after it has been covered by a cast for 6 weeks.
Not sure what to do about the abundant dark hair growth. Veet doesn't work. Will waxing make it go back to the way it was before? Exposure to light? Send help.

Oh dear - I can't help on that one! I would hope waxing would mean the hair starts from scratch?!

Hmm, no experience with a cast... but I know if your dd cuts off her eyebrows, they will grow back.

And my beloved Betsy, the Iron Van, is so old (15) I have a regular key -- so only 1 part. And she is the newest car we own. Hoping for a new one later this year.

I'm trying to think of other things... but coming up empty handed.

You have no idea how much better that makes me feel! :hug

Did you check youTube? That's how I was able to put mine together. I called my hubby and he gave me a pep-talk. I agree with you mine when it brakes it's like a million pieces hubby it's like 3 components. Because, yes... I brok hubby's key too. LOL!!!!!

Glad to know they grow back!
And a 1 piece key is more practical & valuable than anyone probably realises! I think because DH's car is older than mine, it had less fancy parts & at least the circuit board was all 1 piece!

Lol! DH ended up putting mine back together (he's so much faster at complicated jigsaw puzzles than me!) but I have to remember YouTube, y'know just in case!

Now, between you and I (and the gals here) I once backed out of the garage and took my side mirror in my explorer with the wall. HORRIBLE THING. I went to car parts place here bought it and google until I found a step by step instructions on how to install it. We sold the explorer and hubby never found out! LOL!!!!

I think u just became my hero

I learned that if you drop a glass container of coconut oil on your glass topped vanity, that no matter how thick the glass is (or was), it will shatter/break.

:giggle Totally agree !

The guy at the parts place kept telling me, you are lucky you have an old Explorer and not one of those that has heated mirrors. When we went to get my current car hubby wanted to get the one that had a package with heated mirrors and I wouldn't budge. I got the car with the bare minimums "just in case". LOL!!!!!

yes, glass against glass is BAD!!!!! You know the best way to clean broken glass is with bread slices? Not that we would be doing this now with all this mess, but just FYI. The air bubbles and texture of the bread grabs even the thinnest glass pieces!
