how close and convenient everything is. School, church, shopping all within minutes of my house. No traffic. :)
 
I grew up in Orem, Utah...
Now I live in Ogden, Utah... it's about an hour and 15 min. north of where I grew up
(In between I've lived in Southern Utah, Pennsylvania, and Arizona)
I love how close we are to the mountains, love my neighborhood, love that it's a decent sized town that has everything I need (i.e. Target), and I love that we have four seasons.

Where did you grow up? Pittsfield, MA. It's a small city in western Massachusetts.

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? The beach is minutes from my door. We really don't love it here though. Best thing about the military - you move every 3-4 years!

Where do you live now? Um... SW Michigan. I live 8 miles from the house I grew up in. I did move away for college, but got a job back here. I never thought I'd live here forever, but now I'm SO glad that I do!

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? I love living in a beach town (on Lake Michigan). We are smack in the middle of Chicago, Kalamazoo and South Bend Indiana so we have tons of great cities nearby. I love the vineyards and fruit orchards surrounding us too. I love the seasons, even winter here! Just a great small town USA. I live .25 miles from work, 1.5 miles from church and my kids' school.

I was born In Chippenham Wiltshire, but my family immigrated to Australia when I was 2. Dad joined the Army so moved every 2 years (sometimes even once a year) - so short answer, I didn't have a particular town I grew up in

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in?
It is a beautiful city to live in, the weather is sub-tropical so not too cold but it can get darn hot in Summer! And to be honest after moving most of my life the thing I love most is the fact that I know where everything I need is, I know my neighbours, and most of my friends live here, so for me it is a case of familiarity breeding happiness not contempt :)

Where do you live now? Eau Claire, WI; 45 minutes from where I grew up

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? The parks and bike trails here are amazing! You can get to pretty much anywhere you want {downtown} from the bike trails. I also love the size.....it's big, but not too big. :D
 
Where did you grow up? Roosendaal, a mid size town in the Netherlands

Where do you live now? Bergen op Zoom, another mid sized town in the Netherlands, about 14 kilomters from where I grew up.

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? The fact that the town was able to preserve many of their historical, medieval features. Plus the fact that we have water and forrest within cycling range!

Where do you live now? In a small town about 20 miles NE of Little Rock, AR

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? Small town feeling but close enough to the city.

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? i love small town life. i hate the hustle and bustle. i dislike busy. i like my slow country living.
 
I grew up in a town of about 8,000+ people in WI. Now I live right outside of the town my husband grew up in, which is only about 15 minutes away from where I grew up. We're actually about an hour north of Eau Claire and it's the closest big city so we go there quite a bit. : ) My favorite thing about where I live now is that we don't live in the village limits and we have our own little, private-ish area. And the school that my son goes to is actually pretty awesome. I don't want to take him out of this school district.

I grew up in northern Indiana near Notre Dame/South Bend. I currently live in Indianapolis.

I love the city. I love the culture: concerts, museums, etc. I love being close to the interstate and an international airport so traveling is convenient(ish). I love having Target, the grocery store, and library 5-10 minutes from my house. If we end up staying around here permanently, we'd move into the 'burbs since the schools in the county north of us are 10x better (and that is my number one requirement in a place to live), but we'd still be 30-40 minutes from the actual city and close to Target, the store, etc., just different ones. I enjoy the country in small doses -- outings, photo shoots, hikes --- but don't want to live there.

The longterm goal is to move south with NC, SC, TN, and GA being my top picks. We'd still live in a big metro area, but the weather wouldn't be so cold.
 
Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in a small town in central Illinois called Streator. My whole family still lives there...except for me!

Where do you live now? I live up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Crystal Lake, IL. Hubby and I moved here when we got married....kind of picked it blindly b/c we heard the school district was awesome and it was fairly close to DH's work.

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? There is SO much to do here. We are close to the city, close to the country...we have lakes, an awesome park district with TONS of activities for the boys....it is the perfect place to raise a family. It's like living in the city ~ without the cost and we have a bigger house and a bigger yard!! There is tons of shopping too!!!

Where did you grow up? Chicago. Well, literally *just* north of Chicago proper. And I am, sad to say, one of those "annoyingly-proud-to-be-from-Chicago" people. It's home to my heart.

Where do you live now? Deep in SW Arizona.

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? I try to make the best of where the military plants us. The sunshine and the mountains here are lovely.
 
Where did you grow up? Serisouly less then a mile away from where i live now. In Wisconsin here.. in La Crosse....on a tiny island....

Where do you live now? A mile from where I grew up! *L* seriosuly down the street from my parents.. sad I know. My kids go to the same schools I went to. But my husband and I have seriously considered moving in the future. We hate it here

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? I love the seasons.. the colors in the fall, the bluffs... the river...

Where do you live now? In SW Ontario, just across the river from Detroit MI.

What's your favorite thing about the town you live in? I've had a difficult time adjusting to our move here... we're about 5 hours from all of my family. The beach here is really close to where we live and the people are friendly.

Crime rate is extremely low, lots of shopping, and near a huge forest preserve, with lots of trails, nature centers etc. close by.
