How are all the other Michigan gals doing---and anyone else in the path of this ugly storm! We are getting slammed up here in Alpena and I hear it is even worse down state. Hope you all are safe and warm!!!

West MI area here - all evening events were cancelled tonight, and school has already been cancelled for tomorrow. The wet heavy snow is so messy, and I am guessing as the temps continue to drop the wet roads are going to be frozen solid in morning. Glad it is my day off on Thursdays anyway - now I get to spend it with the kiddos...snug as bugs in a rug! Stay safe everyone!

Here in Chicago it's been a big nothing. We were supposed to get around 8 inches. It's been blowing and snowing all day but nothing has accumulated. Both kids had their evening activities canceled. It was nice to all be at home for once, but it really wasn't necessary to cancel. Alex goes to a Chicago public school and there is almost no chance that they'll cancel. Clara goes to Catholic school, so she's holding on to some hope that she won't have school tomorrow (they build in two extra days for snow each year and if it's near the end of winter and they haven't used them, they'll call off school on a day that they might normally have gone).

We don't have any of the bigger storms that you guys have had... but we are under a Tornado Watch. That is super odd for my area. All kinds of wind and it already blew over the Basketball Hoop! Just missed the cars, luckily!

Stay safe, warm, and dry everyone! All the wind, snow, rain and ice can be so treacherous!

My kids don't have school today. We have snow, but not a terribly huge amount. The roads were kinda slippery last night though.

I woke up this morning and my windows are covered in snow and I can't see outside very well. On my deck, it looks like well over a foot of snow, but I think that might be wind and drifting. (It's a second story patio, so I'm not sure where I think it is drifting from. LOL)

I just can't believe there is that much snow out there after having nothing 24 hours ago. I'm tempted to go out and measure it, but there is enough leaning against the screen door that I'm afraid it would all come inside if I tried.

We haven't had school for the last two days and all the evening activities have been cancelled too. I think they will be going to school tomorrow, but the snow hasn't stopped yet. (I guess it is too soon to guess when it's stopping.)

Fortunately, I can work from home, so I'm on my computer in the kitchen and the kids are playing video games or watching TV downstairs. My husband doesn't have that option and had to go in to work. On days like today, I wish we could all stay in and have a not-working snow day.

I'm in SE Michigan, in the corridor between I-69 and M-59, not far from US-23. (Linden)

@sakura-panda I'm kinda close to you in Hamburg township. We got over a foot of snow. School was canceled. My son and his girlfriend made a snowman last night!
My hubby did drive up to Howell as our dishwasher decided it wanted to die last night!

It is beautiful outside!

I heard you got the worse of it down there. A friend from SW Michigan posted a photo and it really looked BAD. Very deep! I couldn't open my front door this morning until my granddaughter came and dug out my porch and stairs. Snow has stopped but wind is awful and its blowing and drifting.

@NancyP my parents (west MI area, north of GR) just sent me pics. They got about a foot of snow. Roads are good except side roads. My dad travels a lot for work but he said (in his stoic way) "it's fine."

I hope everyone enjoys the snow as much as they can! :)

love looking at all those snow pictures! We only got rain Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. But we went from 83 on Saturday to 40 on Monday. LOL I was surprised we didn't have any tornado warnings, but we had a full day in between where it dropped steadily throughout the day.

We have (at least) 5 synchronized skating teams from our area attending Nationals in Kalamazoo. They ended up having to drive from the DC area because the airlines cancelled all flights. We had nasty thunderstorms through here last night, but at least we didn't have any snow this time.

Stay safe and warm, ladies!

I know the coach for a college here and she thankfully got out. (I can't remember if she flew out of Baltimore or another airport.) Funny enough, she had wanted to take the whole family to K-zoo and she asked me if I'd recommend a road trip to Chicago and where to stop along the way. I was like "I don't want to rain on your parade, but February in MI and IL is NOT the time for a road trip." Now that the weather is so bad, I don't feel so guilty about sounding like a Debby Downer!

Here are some of my pics: My granddaughter and her boyfriend digging me out and my dog checking out the snow.

This is crazy - I'm glad you're all safe and warm! We usually look like this at this time of year but this has been our mildest and least snow winter in my memory (all 38ish years of it). We haven't even been able to go sledding down the hill in about a month - not enough snow. :)
