Wow! I know there are other Cubs fans here, so who is celebrating with me today? We stayed up LATE last night and watched history 108 years in the making and it was the craziest game ever! They were up by 4 early, then it was tied in the 8th inning and I thought it wasn't going to happen and then there was a rain delay and then a 10th inning, but the Cubbies pulled it off! They are World Champions! It was a nerve wracking game to watch.

We let our kids stay up until they were falling asleep, just to let them watch a historic game. My youngest went to bed at 10:00ish, only to come back out 30 minutes later saying he was too anxious to sleep. Lol! My 12 year old fell asleep in the 8th inning and the 10 year went to bed in the 9th when it was clear it was going into extra innings. He woke up today and said it wasn't worth it. Lol! I disagree! Totally worth it!

p.s. @scarletsierra Sara, when are you making a Cubs kits? Blue, White, brick walls and ivy?

i grew up in wrigleyville and still remember hearing the cheering crowd through my window. so wish i could have been home for this monumental WIN, my cousin was featured on the news as he wrote on the bricks, so the family was represented at the games. I know my family is in heaven celebrating with a big victory party. I was up til midnight watching the after game celebrations and that is super late for me considering I am writing this post at 5AM.
Go Cubs!!!!!!

PS the Cubs kit is a fabulous idea!!!

I seriously still can't believe it!!! We rode all of the ups and downs last night... it was intense!! So intense that my 16 year old son cleaned the kitchen to burn off his nervous energy (I'll take it!). Then, when the game was over, it was chaos (but good chaos) in our neighborhood last night! I have video (I'll see if I can figure out how to post it). Everyone was out in the streets cheering, cars honking, church bells ringing.... Steady streams of people coming out of houses and bars making their way to Wrigley together. We had a brand new W flag that we got all superstitious about and hadn't unwrapped yet. As soon as they won, the kids opened it up and ran down our street in their socks. They were out on Lincoln Avenue waving their flag, cheering with everyone and waving at the cars going by. I thought I had lost them in the sea of people for a while... but they had just run into friends on their way to Wrigley. It was well after 1:00 here before we even attempted to go to bed (I seriously lost track of time, no idea what time it really was)... but adrenaline was high and it was still SUPER loud here! Operating on little sleep today.

My son is already off to school dressed in every Cubs item of clothing he owns (including our W flag as a cape). Clara goes to private school but is allowed to wear a Cubs shirt today. It's going to be crazy for the next several days!!!

Go Cubs!!!

Congrats to the Cubs! What a series, comeback, and GAME! Wow!

I was watching the CMA Awards so I did not watch the game. Congrats to the Cubs, though...and all the fans that hung on with them!

It's even big news here in Australia!! Well done, have fun celebrating!!

That is awesome! My hubby was telling me about a map of the US that showed where Cubs fans were watching the World series and it was seriously 49 of the 50 state... Ohio was the exception. :giggle

@tkradtke I was thinking of you last night knowing you'd be in the thick of it. How fun! My friend that lives in Andersonville said she could hear Wrigley from her apartment. It's close, but not that close! Lol! I'm surprised they didn't cancel school for today. :)

I kept hoping that they'd close. CPS is out tomorrow anyway, but Clara has school. I wonder if they won't close on the day of the parade though... I'm hoping for Monday on that since Alex is supposed to go to University of Illinois for a college tour tomorrow. We'll see. As loud as it was last night, the city was super quiet this morning. Slow starts this morning. I saw my son's first stop this morning when he got to school was Dunkin Donuts for caffeine. Clara was in need of some as well.

Clara changes buses on her way to dance (in Andersonville) after school at the corner of Clark and Addison, so I'm hoping that she can get some marquis photos for me. She got me some yesterday.

YAY CUBS!! We live just around the corner from their old training fields and stadium here in Mesa. The new facilities are just a few miles away. They really have a nice set up here in our part of town. We drive by it often. I'm so excited they won!

Woke up with the Go Cubs Go sing in my head this morning!! What a game!! What a series!! I'm a Minnesotan but have good friends in Chicago that are lifelong Cubs fans. Was happy for them to see their team win. Funny thing is, my hubby - who is not a baseball fan in the least - was glued to the TV last night. Loved it!!

Congrats to your team @Karen and @tkradtke

PS. Love the idea of a Cubs themed kit. :)

Let's see if this works... not much to see, but you can hear the excitement! We live on an east/west street and everyone was funneling up the north/south streets on either end of our block on their way to Wrigley...

Oh... and the shaking at the end is me missing the last step and nearly biting it.
