My husband said, it is time, if you want to go Adobe Creative Cloud, go for it!
why am I hesitant?
I actually had the program lightroom (did a 30 day trial before opening the CD) and freaked, felt overwhelmed and returned it!
I love my CS5.
Please convince me I need this!

oh Lorry, you are my go to help for so much, thank you. I want to use this...I think that I am using cs5 wrong in the first place. I do not use the bridge. I open my photos on one screen (two screens) and cs5 on the other and just pull it over or right click to open in cs5.
the main thing stopping me from doing the cloud, is if I decide to stop. Will I still be able to use my already installed cs5 program? I keep reading that once I update to cs6, then my cs5 will be inoperable.

You may not be able to run CS5 and CC *at the same* time, but installing CC isn't going to prevent you from going back to CS5 later....the issue is that some filters, etc. in new versions aren't usable in older versions. I still accidentally open stuff into CS5 at times on my computer. And really I think you can run both versions at the same time, although I've never purposely tried it. Just be sure to save your discs or an unzipped copy of CS5 if ever you need to go back.

I don't use Bridge either, Anne. It's not wrong to scrap without Bridge! There are a million ways to do everything in Photoshop. :) Besides, you'll be bringing your photos over from Lightroom when I'm done with you ;)

I do not know how it works with PhotoShop , but another 2 Adobe products Illustrator, and InDesign I had problems with. I did a course of 14 weeks of this and did not want to spend 600+ dollars x 2 for something I was not sure I would even like. So here it comes The computers at school used version 6 (we saved everything on pen drives). My trail version was 5 , I had to remember to save in a way that other versions could open it, If you don't a newer version can read a older version, but a older version can sometimes NOT read a newer version ,or if it reads it ,it is not always "all there " .There is a way to save so it can, but you have to remember to do it. The last 4 weeks of the course I went on the cloud as a trail, and lo and behold sometimes the school computer had trouble reading my home work.... also a lot, had to do with the fonts ,the cloud has a fantastic font library, none of which was installed on the school, computer ups .....
But I will admit it was a dream to work on....

I'm using the $10 CC PS/LR combo. I really really love LR. And I was surprised how much quicker I'm scrapping with PS (I was using PSE 11). Getting a newer, more powerful computer probably had something to do with it too! ;)

For LR, I checked out a book from the library. It was one of Scott Kelby's books. The flow and tone of the book really clicked with me. After a couple sit downs and really studying what I was reading, I felt like LR really clicked for me. I absolutely love (like I want to marry) how organized everything is.

I didn't hesitate when it was time that my CS2 was not up to par for my photography business (and my personal scrapping addiction). It has been many years now that I've had Adobe CC and I love it! You even get extra perks (like coupon codes and free fonts)! Paying a monthly fee only guarantees a steady flow of updates, and all of your settings get saved to the cloud.

Lol.
What's wrong with me. I took the Lightroom/cc subscription, but it feels like I don't know how to do anything in CC or Lightroom.

I've been struggling with this huge. I have CC and have used LR for years but I keep using CS5 cause I know it so well and feel lost in CC.

I went on a major research this morning...and I already know that LIghtroom and I do not get along. So, I am gonna stay with my CS5, and will wait this out...

having the extra glyths in cc would be nice though i didn't know it when i had trial in dec 2014.
I finally got bridge to work, so i fine way i am

Why do Lightroom and you not get along? I have LR, and I love it! It took a week of setting time aside to get to know how to move things around, but it really is lovely. Cheryl @gonewiththewind has helped me out with it, and I'm starting to find my flow.

I am lazy. Seriously. I have my photos all organized by date and then by event on my puter and in my bullet journal (hand written and causes my mojo to get happy). I have a tiny p&s that takes okay photos...and I take hundreds a day. I use CS5 to manipulate the photos when I do a page, but that is it.

LR can organize your photos in that way as well. It's an excellent organizer. So much more efficient than using Finder or Windows Explorer. Plus you would probably like the keywording feature.

LR is great for being lazy! It takes me three or four clicks to make my photos go from meh to wow. Plus the organizing! *swoon*

Yep! LR is the laziest way I've found to organize once you learn a few things.
I love the filters and being able to create folders for different time periods, colors, or tags. And being able to 'sort' a photo into two categories is awesome!
