I really like the idea behind the thanksgiving fest, but it is not celebrated here. What kind of pictures would you take so I could incorporate it a bit in my album?

I am a fan of food photography - when it's done well, as well as table settings. But the heart of thanksgiving is family - and photos of friends and family gathered together make perfect Thanksgiving photos.

I agree -- food, family and fall are really what I think of around Thanksgiving. Or since it is about giving thanks for the abundance that we have, maybe photos that reflect gratitude or abundance.

I always photograph the food and the people. I also try to photograph what we do other than eat (play games, watch a movie, etc).

@onaponakookt

I take lots of photos of food, to-do lists for cooking, table settings, selfies . . . anything and everything!

Here are some of the layouts I've made about Thanksgiving.

We have "Pie Day" the day before Thanksgiving. It's the day we do all the Thanksgiving prep and bake all the pies. The best part is getting to taste test. So maybe you could talk about a favorite dessert around this time of year for you and/or your family?

We travel sometimes at Thanksgiving. These layouts are from when we traveled to Georgia in 2010 and in 2017.

I take a lot of photos of family while we're together. Sometimes it's ON Thanksgiving and sometimes it's a few days before or after. Family is one of the most important things to me.

In 2015, we went to Walt Disney World at Thanksgiving. It was already decorated for Christmas, but I consider these layouts part of my Thanksgiving for that year.

I hope this gives you some creative ideas for photos to take and/or to use photos from previous years.

The feast usually looks like this at my house:

Turkey, Rolls, vegetables (usually salad; potatoes & gravy; corn; and sweet potatoes roasted or mashed; occasionally green beans), rolls - always homemade, stuffing, and cranberry sauce, although it's really more of a cranberry jam.

And in looking at my other Thanksgiving feast pages, apparently it's the turkey I'm happiest to see.
This one has my prep list in the background, so you can see our feast stays pretty consistent.

One of the sweet potato casserole years. I prefer roasted instead for the different texture.

Yup. What others have said: food, family, fun. We always make sure to take a group photo every year, which is incredibly fun to look at as time goes by. It's a day to celebrate being together, to be thankful for what we have, and to enjoy each other's company.
