Friday is here!! :woot
What do you have planned for the weekend?

Tonight, it's a banner moment: House to myself!!
DH is going to see LOTR with some friends and my kids all have plans. I will have 3 glorious hours at home. ALONE. (No, I am not excited about this at allllll. LOL) I am going to have Skype Project Life crop with my friend Miss Heather Joyce. Can't wait!!

On Saturday, my BFF and I are going out shopping to finish up Christmas shopping. This will undoubtedly require a trip to Starbucks too. Then, DH and I have a date night. Sunday is church and family time. We're doing a Christmas light drive on Sunday night, which my kids absolutely adore.

Looking forward to a great weekend! I hope everyone has a good one!!

House to yourself! I'm so envious, hehe... I have about 50 folks coming to my house tonight and I'm already procrastinating the inevitable day of cleaning and cooking ahead of me :).

Then, another party tomorrow night that I am not interested in attending. I just wanna curl up with my laptop and a sappy Christmas movie instead. Oh well, thinking positively. Getting into the spirit and all that :).

Church & fam on Sunday. And I've got to finish my shopping as well soon. EEK. 12 days. EEK.

That sounds amazing Laura - I had the house to myself for the first time last weekend and it was glorious! I did yoga, read a book, went to bed early.

This weekend is quite busy. Ella has soccer practice tonight and a game tomorrow. Helene has a B-day party to attend tomorrow. Inlaws are coming in tonight and will stay through tomorrow. We need to get the remaining wrapping complete, Christmas cards out, and make our infamous cinnamon bun popcorn. On Sunday we are taking the girls to see the Mary Poppins musical.

So much going on this weekend! Tomorrow, we're taking my baby niece to a breakfast with Santa. Then my middle niece is having a makeover party for her 8th birthday. And at night one of my friends is having a karaoke birthday party. I haven't been to karaoke in months so I'm super excited!

On Sunday, I'm hoping to finish up my shopping, get the house decorated, wrap gifts. Maybe see a movie! And since I have a four day weekend, I'm having a spa day on Monday and then we're going to see the Rockefeller tree and Christmas lights in New York City.

Now I just gotta get through today!

I want to get the tree put up this weekend...I'm seriously lacking Christmas spirit right now so I want to get decorating.

Going shopping for Christmas baking goodies for the same reason.

DD started taking guitar lessons in Oct. and the students have a Christmas concert on Sunday. She's playing with a group of kids that are all roughly about the same experience as each other..it was interesting watching practice last night because it was the first time all 4 of them played together and the teacher was able to get them semi on track in about an hour. There's another practice tonight because last week's lessons were cancelled for weather. I probably have to take her shopping for something to wear for the concert as well since she keeps getting taller and almost all of her pants look like capris right now.

Thankfully our weekend isn't super busy! Yay!

Tonight= party with friends and our families, way low key and should be super fun
Sat = 1 soccer games. That's it! SOOOO excited for this!
Sunday = church, and one kid has a bowling birthday party.

I am *so* longing for an entire day at home, but alas, it's not happening this weekend, nor the next. Tomorrow I have a group meeting at 8am for class that will take up most of the morning, then in the afternoon we might be going to watch live opera from the Met (streamed in theaters), and then I have to go to the university for an outreach event. Sunday it's Church, then in the afternoon DH has choir rehearsals and since we're down to 1 car (the other is at the mechanic) I will have to drive back and forth.

In all this, I need to put in the mail our Christmas photo cards - they're all printed, just need to trim and address. And I want to catch up on my DD (I only have one half day done) and my PL (5 weeks behind). Wow, a Skype Project Life crop sounds like super fun!! ;)

I'm so excited for this weekend to start.

Today I'm going to put up the tree. I've been studying for finals and doing last assignments, so I'v been really busy... but all my assignments are done and I have only one final left on sunday, then I'm done for this term. I have until January 14th before next term starts. Next term will be easy peasy... it's all computer stuff... excel, word, etc.

Saturday, the kids are going to a sleep over at TKD, so Doug and I are going out for dinner... belated birthday for him (it was on the 7th) and early birthday for me :) We would go to a movie too... but my exam is at 9am sunday, so I don't want to be out too late lol.

we don't have anything major plans....but i think we might tackle toy clean up in advance of christmas. my DS lost a part of a toy he'd borrowed from a friend and we realized just how out of control everything is. lots of yelling and tears were involved. yikes. dh has offered to help, he manages to keep his cool a lot better when it comes to that task.

I've realized it's a positive and a negative that I post my scrap layouts on Flickr and my blog for my daughter to see them. The positive is that she can keep up with us and I can keep up with her photos but the negative is the 24x36 poster she asked me to make for her roommate for Christmas. Last night I spent 3 hours sending her photos from my phone and her giving "guidance" via text. "I'm not fond of the squares..." so I redo... then later "my favorite was the squares!"...add more blue... no hearts... {sigh} but that sucker will be finished tonight. That size PSD file is a monster to save!

For the weekend, put a handful more ornaments on the tree and call it done, shop for cookie baking supplies, Family Baking Day on Sunday with about 6 batches of cookies on the agenda so far. My son turns 20 on Monday so I need to get that cake baked Sunday night in preparation. My daughter will be home all next week so our shopping and wrapping will get finished then.

I actually have the entire house to myself this weekend! WAHOOOOO!!!!!

I plan to catch up on laundry, clean the bedrooms, attend a Christmas Party Saturday evening, and sleep in late! Last weekend would've been a great time to do much of those things but we got hit with an ice storm last Friday and lost power for a bit. Now, here we are a week later, in the south, and we still have ice from last weekend in our yard and sidewalk. Usually its gone in a day or two but we barely made it out of the 30s this week.

Mostly trying to keep warm! Our ice from last weekend is mostly gone, but it's still quite cold, and our furnace is being temperamental! :thumbsdowns

Other than that, I think just finishing the Christmas decorating and getting the kids squared away for final exams and such next week. I really should clean out my closet too. I can only get to about a third of my winter clothes. :whistle

Exciting stuff! :giggle

Oooh a skype project life crop, how fun! Book me in for one of those next year!

Saturday night we have friends coming around for Christmas drinks and laughs
Sunday night I am going to the movies with my sister to see Carrie

Lots of Gardening during the day

Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh the Skype crop sounds like a fun time. Must try this!

Our weekend is jam packed! ...starting in T minus 30 minutes. :giggle
We have our community Christmas Carnival tonight. We are still waiting on DH to get home.

Saturday is Lowe's Build and Grow Workshop for the kids, then basketball for DS, then family movie night to see Frozen.
Sunday we get to sleep in, but will still be busy with a birthday party in the afternoon, and a road trip to see Christmas lights.

Whew! It'll be a blast, but I can imagine by the end of it all this momma is going to be pooped! Is it Monday yet?

I love Skype crops!

I have a low key weekend planned. Hopefully I'll get my tree up and decorated. My stepbrother is in town so he'll be over tomorrow with my parents for dinner - nerve wracking cooking for him since he's a chef. And I have a knitting project that needs work of I'm going to finish it by Christmas.

I want to know how a Skype crop works, because I think I could be all in for one of those!

We have what I call Super Saturday tomorrow: a Christmas parade bright and early around 8:30 (in freezing cold weather--we are walking in it, the boys are going to be a gingerbread man and a candy cane), our church is hosting a Toys for Tots event where I am helping lead the hospitality team from 10:30-5:30ish, then my nephew's birthday party at 6:30. Church Sunday, choir practice Sunday night and then writing some tests for my dear students on Monday :)

Oh, and in my spare time, I am trying to get November finished up on PL so that I can feel good about slacking until January in that department!

I don't usually have many plans, but on wed, in the interval of my daughter's show, I went to congratulate her main college tutor for the production (she studies performing arts, in case you don't know me) and I asked what did she think about my daughter's personal statement (application to Uni) which my daughter had said she handed in, last week, but I had not seen (is all on the college's computers) and the tutor, much to her uncomfortable moment in which she tried not to give Sarita away...had to confess she didn't yet hand it out.
The organisations that give grants/scholarships out goes on holiday in January, so I will be writing that statement with her ....we already started...just on break now to post some pages around .....
she is extremely talented on stage but fears the academic work....and I think that half consciously she is boycotting her own way....
I have said many times she doesn't need to do Uni...but she reckons there are no much possibilities of getting casted (she does musical theatre) unless you have a Uni degree....
I have said many times I ll support whatever decision she makes but if she decided to go to Uni, she cannot make it into a failure because of procrastinating....
oh gosh, my brain also does not do well with academic work (I m not native English speaker and have a neurological condition that slows my reading/comprehension at the moment...) but I ll try my best....
