At laaaaaast! Friday is here.

Can I just tell you this was the longest week ever? I spent 5 hours in the car yesterday on MomTaxi duty, but I was never more than a few miles from my house. It felt like Ground Hog day. :giggle
So, I am very glad that Friday is here. I have some fun plans for this holiday weekend. Tonight, DH and I have a double date with my best friend and her husband, which is always a great time. Then...drum roll please...my BF and I are heading out on our girls scrap weekend. Wooohoo!! This is basically scrap.eat.sleep.repeat. I will admit to a little :wine thrown in there too. I am so ready for the fun and to catch up on my PL and my digi pages. Woot!

What do you have planned for this weekend?
 
OMG you won't believe it!!!

My ex is taking his kids for the weekend. And my dh is taking his child up to Michigan to visit his mother for the weekend.

I.am.going.to.be.home.alone.

And I have no plans other than my long run in the morning.

He actually asked me if I "minded" being home alone for the weekend. Umm... it'll be a sacrifice but...

Dudes. I did all the laundry and the house is clean.
 
The tax firm where I work on weekends called and actually BEGGED me to come in Saturday and Sunday and do taxes. I really just couldn't say no - he did actually use the word BEG. And I get to watch my best friends two dogs for the weekend while they go to Miami and have fun so a little added work thrown in there. The up side is because it's a holiday weekend I DO actually get one day off for Monday so that will help my mood for next week. My son has his Fantasy Football draft this weekend so he is super excited for that to get started!
 
I have to work tomorrow. But tomorrow night I'm helping a friend throw a promotion party for her husband. Then Sunday and Monday I need to catch up on cleaning around the house. At some point I need to go find a dress for a work event coming up in 2 weeks....maybe Monday if stores are open.
 
Nothing really going on today and tomorrow except the usual errands, etc. I am thinking about getting my hair cut this weekend...it's gotten too long and it's starting to really get on my nerves. Sunday DD has scouts and horseback riding, it'll be the first time that she has both on the same day, so it'll be interesting to see how that works out since we're planning on going back to weekly lessons now that summer is over (and it's not 110 degrees in the stable). I'm also hoping I get some time this weekend to scrap. I've missed my scrapping time dreadfully.
 
Laura that sounds like a FUN weekend. I could use some "girl" time!! And Angie, I am jealous! (one that you can go for a long run and I am still on crutches, and two that you have a whole weekend to yourself!!)

I actually have a fun weekend planned. We are dropping the girls off at the in-laws tonight and then we are heading to Cleveland tomorrow with another couple for an early anniversary celebration. We plan on hitting every brew pub on the way :)
 
Mark is off for the holiday weekend and letting me sleep in :) as soon as I get up I'll go for my run and then we're going to a couple tile stores to look for a backsplash for the kitchen... then I have no idea what he has planned for the rest of the long weekend... I'm hoping he has some fun plans that aren't kitchen related because the poor guy needs a little break but he won't admit it, mr tough guy lol
 
we are finally getting our entry way painted tomorrow!! i'm so looking forward to having some form of color on the walls!! :yesss the white walss make me ---> :sense

and notre dame's opening game of the season is played tomorrow morning in ireland! how fun is that!! i'm SUPER jealous of those who are way awesomer than me and could actually GO to ireland to watch the game. *sigh*

and i'm working at the rascal flats concert tonight and the kelly clarkson concert on sunday.
 
rachel!! "every brew pub on the way" combined with "i'm still on crutches" sounds a little iffy to me!! HAAA! be careful!! no more injuries!
 
I will be doing NOTHING :( got the flu and if that did not happen I would have been partying it up with 30 other ladies for a good family friends Hens night...brrrr LAST DAY OF WINDER HERE IN OZ YAY YAY YAY

I know rebecca! My friends asked if they should just get me a wheel chair or rickshaw from the start!!
 
oooh laura im getting excited for you chick,nothing planned here just a lazy weekend with the kids,may take them to a ball park if the weather is not good or a nice park if its nice which i doubt

This cracked me up.

No huge plans for the weekend other than going to the MN State Fair on Sunday with my parents. We have a long list of Fair Food we want to fit into our day, so we're bringing my stepfather because he's a bottomless pit when it comes to food AND he's super "frugal" so he doesn't like to buy things. It winds up being win/win for us as far as getting through our whole list - we buy it and try it, he finishes it.

Then I imagine after they release him from the hospital following his cardiac event, we'll head back home.
 
I'm SUPER excited to head to my old high school tonight for a football game, then to an Indian's baseball game tomorrow, then to a family cookout Sunday, and THEN an Arts Fest on Monday. I'm looking to the fair food as well-- last year it was a nice mix of fair food and food trucks-- YES PLEASE.

Busy weekend, but I'm SO looking forward to it!
 
i'm going flying! super excited.. friend is a flight instructor and they're going to "teach" connor how to fly.. it's going to be awesome sauce.
 
He should LOVE THAT, La!! Let us know how that goes, should be absolutely phenomenal to experience with him!
 
Now that I've recovered from Peppermint's last line in HER post...

I've restarted my Jillian Michaels torture with the 30 Day Shred yesterday, and plan on continuing the torture today and through the weekend, while I finish recovering from the flu. There are no other plans. The hubs might not get any time off this weekend/Monday because of working two jobs :( and I don't know if I have the motivation to do any grilling by myself. Both kids are recovering (still) from the flu, too. They have today off, too, because the wonderful LAUSD system decided every school in the system gets it off. Maybe because of the early start they had this year?
 
Ooh I hope everyone has a fabulous fabulous weekend! Sounds like some really good times for many of you!! And for those feeling under the weather and/or having to work, I hope it flies by and you're feeling better soon!

As for us. In true to Vanilla form, we have no plans. It will be some good family time and hopefully some good scrappy and design time too. The biggest excitement on our end is, we've menu planned for the weekend and have some of our favorite meals on the weekend menu..so there will be good nom nom.
