Hello Friends!

Today's technique scrap is designed to help you with creative ways to use clipping masks, and particularly the use of fonts. You will need to come up with a short title that will be BIG on your page. It will work best if you have an O in the word.

Here are a couple of suggestions:
YOU
LOVE
HOME
MOM
POP
SNOW
JOY
any NAME
a DATE

You don't HAVE to use an O word, A words work well too and you can turn the A into a star. An i words work too, with the photo in the dot on top. The point is that you will need one spot for the photo, so thinking ahead so we won't cut out an important part of the photo.

Ok....so let's get started!

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Start with a neutral background
2. Create a LARGE word as the main focus of the layout.
Decide which letter you plan to replace with a photo
3. Clip different patterned papers to each of the other letters.
4. For the photo layer, create a circle (or heart) for the letter O (or a star for A, or use your imagination for anything!)
5. Clip your photo to the shape in #4.
6. Add some embellishments- Anything goes - can be as little as a staple, or as much as a large cluster.
7. Under the your word, add a tag or journaling strip with at least 1 sentence of journaling, including the date.
8. Add anything else to make your page your own!

This is a slow scrap so you have 24 hours to complete your LO. You must have your page posted here by: 12pm ET- Tuesday, November 22 to qualify! Please remember that your layout must comply with our gallery rule of 50% TLP products. I will be PMing the eligible scrappers their participation prize from this thread. I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

I kept the mask/photo large but the rest of the font/paper mask letters a bit smaller.

i played - i clipped my photo to an alpha and then masked the middle of the A and cupcake back in and used a template for my BG and element placement
