Teal Toes

Such an informative post, Melissa! Thank you!! I have the perfect teal for my toes!
 
I've already got my toes painted teal! So sorry you are dealing with this Melissa, and thanks for the info. I had a cyst removed from my ovary when I was 28 and pregnant with my first child, and always get checked now.

Wow, so eye opening and I have a large cyst right now, but the dr. I was seeing said it wasn't a big deal. I will be changing drs. and I am going to ask for the blood test. Thanks for the info and I will be painting my toes teal. {{hugs}}

Oh... thanks so much for this post... I have PCOS and have several cysts on my ovaries but didn't know about the blood test... will definitely request that at my next appt... I wish sooooo much you weren't going through this chickie and I'm definitely painting my toes teal!!!

thank you for posting this, but you did made me cry here!! So so sorry you have to go through this and will be buying teal nailpolish tomorrow!!! Also we get this exam once every 5 years I think... an internal swap (not sure if this is the right word??) But other then that nothing... Would love to hear what is normal in the states and we just have our normal dr. and not a gynocologist... I don't think there aren't a whole lot of people who see one on a regular base, unless of course when something is wrong... Please fill me in?!

I think most women in the U.S. get an annual exam once a year, and most probably see a gynecologist. After a certain age, you also get breast exams and mammograms. I'm not sure what the average age is to begin with the mammograms because I've been getting one since I was 31 because of family history.
 
And I don't know if you know that my sister (bderby) was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 29. It's kind of dangerous to be a woman in our family! Fortunately, she is doing GREAT!

I think the start age for mammograms is 35 in the US. Mine was earlier because the dr felt a lump (that turned out to be benign after the big biopsy).

I have my mom and daughter painting their toes teal too!
 
I remember this from last year and will be painting my toes teal again. Thanks so much for sharing such an important subject with all of us. I keep up fairly regularly on your blog to see how you're doing :beat
 
Melissa, you have every right to DOMINATE this post! I had no idea there was a blood test and I will most certainly ask about it at my next visit. I'm thinking about you and sending all my fiercest, strongest wishes for exceptional health ahead. Now, to find some teal polish...
