I have gotten a bit of a bug this past week or so. Sore throat, fever, cough, just not feeling great. I tested negative for covid. I asked hubby to get me some tea because I thought the hot drink may make me feel better. Let me just say I do not like tea. (maybe I should have put some honey and whiskey in it, lol) But I digress he bought me some black tea that was coconut "flavored" and some lemon tea. The black tea had caffeine the lemon did not. I don't know if I should have put milk and honey or sugar in it. It just tasted like scented water. Maybe I didn't steep the tea bag long enough? I followed the directions. Maybe it's not for me.

Do you like tea? What kind of tea do you like? How do you take it? Why didn't I like my tea? What did I do wrong? Just kdding you don't have to answer the last two questions, or....

I have to add I do like green tea when we go to the teppanyaki table.

I'm not a big tea fan either. I've found the only ones I like have LOTS of flavor- I like the super spicy chai or ginger lemon. I usually don't put a lot of water- maybe 8 oz so it's flavor actually shows up! ;) I do usually add a little honey too, but no milk. I do like to drink it in the evenings tho since I'm a pretty heavy coffee drinker and try to not drink so much when I just want the warmth in the evenings!

I don’t really like tea but I’ll drink spearmint tea whenever I feel a sore throat coming. I like it plain but sometimes I’ll add cocoa to make it mint chocolate or honey and lemon to make it sweeter.

Normal tea, as in no fancy flavours if you are not a fan. ( breakfast tea, PG Tetley, supermarkets own brand of tea ) make it fairly weak to begin with, def no more than half a minute to soak then stir with the teabag still in and remove it. This you can load with ,sugar, honey ,as much milk as you like....whisky is ok too Lol.
Never put milk in flavoured tea. (Wich it not really a tea, since most never saw a tea leaf, but an infusion. )Never put milk in green tea either by the way.
If you do want an infusion to help smooth the throat, then get something with strong flavours, with things like liquorice, or lime/lemon
I wish you good health.

I'm a bit of tea connoisseur. I prefer loose leaf tea over tea bags for a number of reasons: taste is one of them. There are so many different types of tea, even black tea. Herbal and fruit teas take longer to brew.

Black
The standard tea that people tend to think of is English Breakfast Tea (most common brands are English Breakfast). It's best with milk or lemon juice. Don't over brew or it will taste bitter.
My favourite black teas are Assam, and Ceylon. If you over brew they don't go bitter, but do get very strong. I like the Assam with and without milk. I tend to have milk in my first cup of the day, then drink without later. Ceylon I like without, sometimes adding lemon. Occasionally I add dried herbs to the tea pot to add a little extra flavour and help with my mood. Adding fennel helps with PMT, sage with perimenopausal hot flushes, and rosemary with feeling low/depressed.
Red
Rooibos tea is nice (redbush). It can be drunk like black tea but doesn't contain caffeine. You can over brew this as much as you like and it won't be a problem, so perfect when little ones are needing constant attention. It's good hot or cold which is another motherhood bonus.
Green
Without milk. I'm still working out which ones I like best. The cheaper ones can be bitter. Japanese green teas are fabulous. You can add fruit or herbs to them to get variety if you want to. But they are great on their own.
Herbal teas
I have not liked many I've had from the shops. I grow a herb garden and make my own from scratch.
Fruit Teas
The cheaper ones are mostly hibiscus, it's worth paying a bit more if you want the full flavour of the fruits. We have a different one in the cupboard every month - my husband is the biggest fruit tea drinker and he needs variety. His favourites are the ones with spices added e.g. orange and cinnamon, or apple and ginger.

Having just written all that, I think I need to put it into a photoless scrapbooking page for my About Me album.

Please scrap a page with this information.

I love green tea, and actually is the best to do iced tea. I use peppermint or mint flavored. I put 2 or 3 bags in a small cup with boiling water let for around 3 - 5 mins., then in a jar with cold water, I add stevia, cucumber cubes, and when the tea is more or less cold I pour the tea into the jar, believe me tastes delicious!
With black tea, you can do almost the same, but I'm not a big fan of black tea, I've got headache, nausea, and some unrealistic feeling produced by the tachicardia, so black tea isn't for me. But my husband drink iced black tea with some mint leaves and ice cubes -that he puts in the blender-
In the morning, and during the day, I drink several cups of ginger - lemon tea, is good for the stomach.
I must confess that I'm a coffee LOVER, and drink at least 6 cups of strong coffee per day, but as well we love tea. In our house there a big collection of green, white, mixed herbs and chamomile tea. We like to test everything that we find in the market, lol, but our favorites are green tea (flavored with mint, peppermint and lemon), ginger & lemon grass, ginger and lemon, white tea flavored with orange, white tea flavored with berries, white tea flavored with mint, rose hip tea, and chamomile with honey.
Now when you've got a cold, or soar throat the BEST is chamomile tea, because is a natural antibiotic, so place several bags into a pan, don't let boil but let to rest, so the tea must be really strong, if you'd get fresh or dried chamomile then let to boil for 5 mins. Drink during the day with a little bit honey, but without lemon. Now with the lemon do the next, you're gonna need two cups, one with lemon juice and another with water with bicarbonate, do first gargles with the lemon juice and then with the water with bicarbonate, and again with lemon juice and then with water with bicarbonate, don't drink, and be careful, when you are doing this. But that's the way, you're gonna kill the bacteria in the throat.

I think if you like Coffee, then maybe tea will seem very diluted when compared, lol!

I love tea. I love the smell of Coffee, but don't like the taste. I figured that is why tea was for me. I usually drink English Breakfast Tea... with a lil milk and a splenda. I don't like much else in it - like whiskey or honey.

I grew up with my grandfather a lot who would make me tea, crumpets, and kippers. Looking back, I think it's funny I ate kippers right out of the tin.

I also love iced tea with lemon, and sweetened somehow. And ice cold Raspberry Tea, yum.

The only time I drink tea is when I'm sick and have a sore throat too. I use the "throat coat" tea that has slippery elm in it. It's a little sweet and is amazing on a sore/scratchy throat!

Hope you feel better soon Danica!

I drink tea in the afternoon.. Bewley's Irish Breakfast tea (I buy it in the international section of our grocery) ... I take nothing in it.. hubby just puts hot water in it for me and that is it :) I leave the bag in.

When I was a kid, when I was ill, Mom made me a cup of tea with milk and sugar in it along with a side of toast.

Feel better!

I was taught to keep chamomile tea bags in the first aid box - wet them with warm boiled water to use as wipes to clean wounds.

I really love tea in the evening. I'm not particular on the kind or flavor. I just add a little splenda to it and call it good. It's like a little treat for me :)
Hope you're feeling better!!

I like herbal tea with ginger and pear or orange. I put a bit of stevia in too. I also like green tea and just gently boil the water, not a full boil (I have a teapot with a thermostat on it) and add a bit of stevia.

LOVE tea. My favourite is Orange tea, it is a variety of black tea with citrus notes that you can enjoy with milk.
I enjoy rooibos tea and Earl Grey as well. Tea is my comfort and my exhale.

I have just seen your page in the gallery - love it!

Brewing a cup of tea is an art... I fell in love with green tea when we lived in China - the real loose leaf kind - and I simply can't stand it in tea bags now.

Black tea with sugar and lemon is the best for me. I love making myself a pot and taking it with me to the desk where I scrap. I agree with Angela - cheap tea tastes bitter so it is worth spending a bit more.
