January 9: Advice To Your Future Self (Journal Challenge)



Journaling:
Dear Future Self: It won’t always be this hard. This tiring. It won’t always feel like a struggle to breathe. And you won’t always feel like all the fighting, attitude, back talk and yelling are never ending. As each one grows and matures, those moments will seem so far and in between, until one day the house will be silent. The boys will all be off living their own lives and you’ll be home yearning for the days of chaos and mayhem. You’ll yearn for those outrageous conversations and annoying times. You’ll miss the sound of their voices echoing through the house. It’ll feel like your heart is no longer attached to your body. I’m already starting to feel this with each piece of independence they find. I’m writing this to remind you to enjoy each and every day as if it is your last. Enjoy each and every moment; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Take it for what it is because one day, even when you are wishing for it to all be over, you’ll want it back again. You’ll wish you could make them little again. I also know this from current experience.

January 11: On This Day (Journaling Challenge)



Journaling:
My three boys will forever and always be my greatest treasures, but for today’s challenge I wanted to focus on something that I treasure for a whole other reason. At the age of 34, I went back to school to complete my college degree. A goal I have always wanted for myself. It was a long, hard road but I made it. And I didn’t just finish college, I owned it like a boss! I finished that bad boy with straight A’s. That’s right, I earned myself a 4.0 GPA. I’ll admit I had some help along the way, and without my family and friends I’m not sure if I would have made it through. Their support was imperative to my completion. I’ve accomplished a lot of mile stones in my life; marriage, kids, graduating high school, working, etc. But this was strictly for me. Something I needed to do for myself. An accomplishment I knew would help make me feel complete. Outside of my kids, it is the one thing I will freely toot my horn about. Ain’t no shame or modesty in my game when it comes to graduating college Summa Cum Laude.

Journaling:
This was a really fun challenge; on the flip side, it was also a really sad one, for me anyway. Memories can do that to you. Meet Sydney Bean (a.k.a fatty girl). The Queen behind my forum name. My heart. I adopted her from the shelter when she was just 10 months old. It was literally love at first sight. I looked in her cage and told the assistant that’s her. I want her. I hadn’t even touched her at that point. My soul knew Syd was the perfect addition to our family. From the moment she was placed in my arms we were inseparable. Everyone knew she was a mama’s girl and ran the house. There wasn’t a soul who met her who didn’t fall in love with my Beany Bean. Each night, she took turns moving from bed to bed, sleeping with all of her humans. Then Halloween day about 5 years ago she went missing, never to be seen again. We searched long and hard with no success. All I could do was be thankful I had 12 long, loving years with her. And until this day I still miss and wish for her to be home. It’s just not the same.

So around digiland you’ll know me as tammybean04 or in TLP’s case, tammybean004 (typo not noticed until after I’d hit accept…LOL). I had this username before my girl left me and now I can’t imagine choosing another. This one holds even more meaning to me.
