what browser do you use and why?

i've been using FF for years and years; however, it's slowed down a lot (i do need to clean a lot up both in the browser and on my system), and i wonder if chrome or safari deserve a fair shake...

I've always like Chrome better than Firefox. I don't have a concrete reason though, lol. I don't have a mac so I've never tried Safari.

I switched to Chrome for a week. Literally. It did not cooperate with Windows 8 very well, so I went back to Firefox. Chrome was driving me insane! I'm sure part of it was newness, but I've been fine with Windows 8, so I'm not positive it was all user:thumbsups I uninstalled Firefox completely, and then reinstalled it. That helped with my issues. It's been running pretty smooth since.

No mac, no safari.

I have a mac and i prefer safari, but it is 99.9% because it takes care of automatically unzipping my files -lol! (it also lets you bookmark entire sets of tabs (i.e.,i have a tab set for "upload lo" - it opens gallery, ct, and photo bucket for me all at once) so yeah, i guess i like it because i'm lazy! :)

{the hubs prefers chrome, and i have to use firefox for several things i do for work because the plugins are picky.}

I've been using FF for years (on a mac) and I've recently found it to be slow and annoying, too. I've started using Safari more and even though sometimes, the pages load slower than they would on FF, they never fail to load like sometimes in FF. Anyway, I'm using both right now but converting more and more Safari.

i'm on a pc, windows 7 with chrome - i used to use firefox up to about 2 yrs ago and initially after the switch, it (chrome) was really good but now i think chrome is much the same as firefox. i used to have a lot of plug-in's like one that would make gallery thumbnails instantly larger with a mouseover and that would group tabs and make them coloured etc but i reinstalled stuff late last year and didn't get around to 'finding' them to re-install. i think chrome is preferrable if u have a gmail acct (which i don't really) but i just have email and my main day to day stuff listed as 'home' and they open staright away in the first few tabs. I still use FF on DH's pc sometimes, maybe that's reinforced my current opinion that they're much a muchness - that said it blows me away when people mention they (still) browse with internet explorer... it's akin to using comic sans to me.... nuff said

I use Chrome on Windows 8 but I'm always in Desktop. I did have trouble with it in Metro but I had problems with lots of stuff in Metro so I just never use that anymore.

On the Mac I use Safari. There are some cool extensions for it I like and it just seems more elegant, IMO.

I've just never liked Firefox, ever. I used Opera for years and years but Firefox has always annoyed me.

I use Chrome... mostly because of the great extensions that work well with tumblr. No idea how I would function without the block post button, the outbox or the archive. Chrome takes some getting used to at first, but once I got the hang of it, I never wanted to go back.

Safari. Came with the MBP. No complaints thus far (got it in November).

I use Chrome with Windows 8 but I also use desktop. I have my computer set up to load directly to my desktop and never mess with that boxy thing.

I used Safari for a short time right after getting my Mac a couple of years ago. Ended up switching over to Chrome (I used Chrome on a PC for years prior to switching to Mac). Even though I liked Safari, Chrome was a much better fit for me, more versatile.

I've used Chrome for years. My boss is an IT type and changes us at work to certain things. I try to be observant and change at home to stuff that I like. I've used it with Windows 7 and Windows 8 and still have no issues with it.

I use Safari. I tried Chrome a while back and didn't like it, plus there were things that wouldn't work with it, but I can't remember what anymore. If something doesn't work for me in Safari, I switch to Firefox... but that's not very often.

I use Safari on the mac the majority of the time. My hubby & kids prefer Chrome. Not sure why. Both seem to work girl!

I use Firefox on a Mac. I would use Safari, but FF seems to have better ad blockers, so I just stick with it. I've never tried Chrome.

I like Chrome best on my Mac at home or PC at work. I only use Firefox these days for sites that don't cooperate and rarely use Safari. I really like how I can be logged into Chrome so I can easily access the same bookmarks from anywhere - I'm don't know if other browsers do that. But it makes it easy to goof off at work or to work from home! LOL!

I actually use Safari. Thought I wouldn't like it, but I really dig the reading list and top sites navigation. But my most favorite is the automatic unzipping of any zip files. :beat

I've been happy with Chrome. I had lots of glitches with FF before so switched over about a year ago and no complaints.
