What are your favs? How often do you eat it (how often could you eat it?) Raw - yes or no? Wasabi - yay or nay?

I am totally addicted to sushi. I love the hand(cone) rolls the most. The California rolls are a staple for me. I love the spicy salmon rolls, something called Thousand Island shrimp (not a roll), DH loves the shrimp rolls. We make an effort to try something new each time we go. Last time, we tried the egg sushi, which wasn't bad considering the thought of egg and rice all at the same time kinda grossed me out a little.

I love spicy tuna rolls and yellow tail sashimi. My boys always order lots of different rolls with all sorts of goodies in them, so we try something different every time. Definitely have to have wasabi too!!!

Oh yes we discover this last year and love that food with wasabi of course. We love makis and rolls.
We try to go there one time a month at least

Maki is my favorite. I love love love California rolls, and also really like Cowboy rolls, Spicy Shrimp Crunch rolls, Spicy Tunarolls, New York rolls, Dragon rolls. I also like some Nigiri...Sake (salmon), Ahi, Maguro (tuna), and Anago or Unagi (eel which isn't served raw). I do not like masago (roe) on any of my sushi, though.

I also am completely in love with Edamame. Yum.

I LOVE sushi!! last year, we won a silent auction and got to have a private sushi party with a professional chef and it was easily one of my favorite things ever. and it even convinced Micah to like sushi and now if we get to go out to eat, we almost always hit the sushi place that the chef was from.

I really like the spicy tuna and spicy shrimp. California rolls are good too. I am not a huge raw fan, but I will eat it. I love anything that has sprouts in it, also at our party, he added some mango to some rolls and it was SO good. So, now I am always requesting that be added. We like the wasabi too.

Oh and I could eat it every single night, I think. I am starting to crave it now, just thinking about it! LOL

and here is a link to my blog post with pictures of our party if anyone is interested:

Oh Becky I would be in absolute heaven!! Your party looked amazing and I love all the photos you took. The sushi looks delish!!!

My Lucas asked for sushi for his 7th birthday dinner. Yep. We love sushi here! There's a great all you can eat sushi place in town that's all you can eat (any rolls you want) for 18.00 :) It's SOOOO good!

you guys are speaking a different language here... no pun intended... I've never had sushi. We don't even have a place local that serves it (that I'm aware of). I've always meant to try it, but it just never is in the fore-thought.

I love sushi. I only get to eat it when I go home to WA...DH won't touch it with a 10 foot pole...but my teen cousins, my brother and I could eat it all day!! Our favorite sushi place in near Seattle...it's called Blue C Sushi. It's one of those that the plates are color coded for price and the food comes by your table on the conveyor belt and you just pick up what you want.

We usually always grab California Roll, Seattle Roll, Spam Musubi (which isn't technically sushi , but it's yummy), Inari, Cucumber Roll, Philly Roll, Veggie Tempura Roll (so good...they use fried green beans!), Kin Shi and Spider Roll...plus we usually munch through 2 plates of edamame :D

this is kinda of funny for me.
My brothers and sister live in Phoenix (city) so they are always talking about eating sushi and having sushi for lunch. They told me that if I ever get to Phx that they would take DH and I to a sushi place. I live in country area. One time DH and I were driving and decided to have sushi at a place about a hour away. We get there and its closed. So I get off the truck to check and see what time they open. I get to the door and there is like a menu posted on there. They had frog legs, snake..somthing, lizard toes...something like that. and then some more other items that by the time I got finish reading that part came the sushi. I was grossed out and couldnt even remember reading what time they open. So that blew out the trying the sushi bar..lol.

But after a couple of months later, finally tried a california roll. I liked it, but havent tried another sushi since.

I love sushi :) I usually have it 2-3x a month. California rolls are my fave, but I haven't really met a roll I didn't like. I only eat the cooked sushi so far...but might try something raw some day.

Good grief - Leah - you are even more land-locked than I am! :giggle Let's just say that Sushi probably isn't at its best by the time it gets flown in here and prepared for a meal. The only thing I try these days is the California roll, but that uses crab-flavoured pollack so I'm not sure if that counts as real sushi.

I have been eating sushi since I was 5. My bestie at school was from Japan and every Friday we would swap lunch and she would have my chicken sandwich and I would have her sushi.
My favorite is spider sushi (soft shell crab) and dragon roll. I mix my wasabi with mayonaise and I have to have pickled ginger even though I usually hate ginger. Sushi is the only rice my son likes and all the family love sushi train, we usually have it weekly.

I love Sushi and I also know that DH won't touch it!

When I was growing up as the daughter of an Air Force daddy, we lived between two unique families. One of the guys was married to a Japanese lady and they had a daughter my age. On the other side of us was a Mexican family with a daughter the same age as me. (Oh yeah, if any of you remember Charlie's Angels, we fought all the criminals in our neighborhood on ROLLERSKATES! bwahahahah) We always had seaweed at Dori's house. Yummy!

Anyway...some time about 2 weeks ago, I was at Walmart and found seaweed (California Roll Cone) and some white steamed rice in the Oriental foods section. I also picked up a can of crab meat. (I know, but it was all I could find). Anyway, went home and while DH had some leftovers (which by the way were his favorite), I made Sushi just for me. I cooked the rice in the microwave, laid out the seaweed, covered it with the rice, layered with crab meat, and then a green onion. (Yeah, I know, it was supposed to be a cucumber but I forget to pick that up at the store). Rolled that bad boy up and chomped down. Probably wasn't the best but it was all I could find without going to a restaurant.

So, what is recommended to put in Sushi?

Thanks for sharing your party with us Becky - I loved looking at the photos! Yum!

I love eating rolls - spicy shrimp or california rolls usually. I used to love the raw stuff but something changed after my second pregnancy and I couldn't stand eating it anymore.
