So I always overextend myself when I'm doing my kids' birthday parties. Always. So this time, I thought - why not make it 500x's worse by doing a surprise party?

LOL.

I just didn't think it through ... I can't do any party prep while the kids are at home! I hadn't budgeting those missing hours into my plan of attack. I only have about 5 hours tomorrow to get everything done. ACK!

I have never thrown a surprise party. Heck, I haven't ever been at a surprise party! :giggle But it is fun! And you're a great mom for organizing this! :)

Wow, how fun!! I don't think I could ever manage, especially for my daughter, since she is the queen of snoops. LOL Sending you super-efficient party prep vibes. Hope everything goes off without a hitch!

Thanks for the good vibes! My son is going to be 10 and he's just completely oblivious. He was just asking me at dinner tonight when we're going to have his party. I told him a few weeks after his birthday (the surprise party will be about 1.5 weeks before his birthday LOL).

Right now I'm just waiting until I'm sure the kids are good and asleep before I bust out the party stuff to keep working on. LOL

Your parties are always great. I want to see pics of the fondant angry bird cake toppers asap, please. LOL Although, under the circumstances, I guess after the party is ok. :)

so fun!! i can't wait to see pics too :) i had a surprise party when i was in elementary school at the local roller rink - i still remember being SO surprised!!

I can't wait to see pics either! I'm so terrible with secrets, I could never plan a surprise anything.

What fun! Last year my oldest (almost 8) asked for a surprise party. :) I thought that was pretty funny. But, he is so oblivious to his surroundings that I could probably pull it off. The problem is, then I'd have to do one for my youngest too as he would NOT be happy to be left out. :)

I can't wait to see pictures and I hope you got some sleep last night!

I get stressed at my kiddo's birthday parties too. I'm sure your kids really love that you do this for them. That makes it worth it, right? In the meantime I wish you lots of positive, relaxing party planning vibes. :) I can't wait to see pics too!
