Summer Plans

Hopefully it may help some of you with summer boredom! What are your plans for the summer?

We rented a beach house with my best friend and her 2 kids for 2 weeks in August so I am really excited about that (we go to a beach in FL every year, we are trying to get to all of them on our side of the state) and DH and I have an adult vacation in VA the last week of July (so excited for this we go to his corporate retreat every year and it's heavenly). We also have plans to go up north for a week and visit family (not really looking forward to trying to travel that far with all 4 kids). In between the boys have golf camp, reading camp (because they have given me so much trouble about reading) and swim camp. I hope that's enough to entertain them. I have a love/hate relationship with summer.

So what are all your plans?

I will be staying in town and working most of the summer, apart from a trip to CA in late August for a conference, and *maybe* a trip to Maine with DH in July when he has a business trip there. I would love to spend more time outdoors, but I also hate the heat so I'm not sure if it'll happen. Also excited to have a friend come visit us at the beginning of August.

The beach house sounds really cool, Kelly!

We have a week long camping trip for the end of June and through 4th of July in the upper Penisula of Michigan. The boys are super excited about that. Then DH and I are going on an adults only camping trip this weekend. In august we are going on another camping trip with a bunch of families from our church and that one will include a trip to an amusement park near the campground and a canoe trip too. Otherwise we will spend most weekends at our beach and bike riding. I just love summer.

We seem to be so busy this summer. Between class reunions, soccer, volleyball, and the swimming pool we are never home.

Our Summer is off to a busy start and is revolving around the kids' sports schedules.

I think that DH and I might go on a vacation by ourselves the last week of July. I so need a kid break.

Our summer is mostly going to be tending to the farm (hay and corn) in New Mexico. We have been going up there every weekend for the last 3 weekends. We wanna go on vacation this summer though

DH is traveling much fo the summer, so the kids and i will be keeping it low-key most of the time.
next week sebastian has gymnastics camp.
at the end of june i think we're gonna try to travel back to ohio and spend a few days with my dad.
plus there is a 2-week (maybe) chunk in july when my MIL takes the kids & does vacation-y things. i think part of it at lease will be spent here, though, exploring some of the things we've never done right in our new back yard.
isaac is gonna play tackle football this year, so those practices will start up in july as well.
somewhere in there i'd like to make a short trip up to michigan to visit friends we've left behind.
other than that, it will be days at the park or the lake or running through sprinklers.
